Game Loot?
I wanted to ask you guys what you think about loot because for me finding a new cape, cap, or any clothes in logical puzzles doesn't feel rewarding enough. Wouldnt it is more fun to find in these puzzles a map leading to treasure outside Hogwarts? And then another puzzle with for example super rare special potion or some kind of enchanted item that helps you in the fight, find new things, or stuff like that? What do you guys think?

Most loots are made like skyrims system Random based.
If you start the games assignments and storyline after level 25. You will rarely get any useful items.
The most logical way now to get better gear when highlevel is to find an areas main chest (the big chest with opening animations) They will always drop a legendary item

Nothing better than solving a 2 minute puzzle with ancient magic for 30 coins, pog.

I'm fine with the gear, I just want the gear to feel worth keeping. Stupid to get a legendary piece of gear, just to replace it with a green minutes later because I'm still leveling. There should be a way to upgrade the pieces you like on par with your level.

Loot just seems to be random clothing so far. You also have a limited inventory space. You get doubles of the same items with different rarities. I am honestly not big on these systems.

I guess you can transmog stuff to look like other stuff. Sets of clothing would have been much better. Loot system is honestly meh. You will end up selling everything just so you can loot other stuff later with your very small inventory.

I feel the loot in HL is entirely underwhelming, and I'm a little tired constantly finding cardigan sweaters in ancient tombs, *ANCIENT TOMBS* I'm not in a damned Old Navy store, give me some kind of interesting magical artifact!

Loot is the biggest downside besides the quest design from 2001. I really dig the atmosphere and I still keep doing the content because the gameplay loop is at least okay. But the loot.. yeah.. feels like it was the last system they forced in within the last 5 days of development.

Not really interesting or engaging. I don't understand why devs still think that every open world game needs such lame loot. I would be fine with just money and a lot of more nice stuff to buy in the shops. Thats all the game would need. But nope... 1000 chests with useless equipment that goes straight to the shops to sell anyway.

The loot felt fine for me, early on the loot was progressive with each level and new item no matter the color/rarity

Higher levels the loot seems terrible, green/blue/purple loot don't outweigh my stats on any of my gear, what's even worse, while I have a level 28 Legendary equipped, I've had 34-35 level items that are the same or less than that of the level 28 gear that are also Legendary, so I'm probably opting to just reach for 40 before doing any upgrading at all

When it comes to the shops, I saw some gear that had better stats than I'm being rewarded from chests which aren't very productive to loot for getting better gear

In the end, I suppose all the loot is to gather a complete collection of cosmetics that you don't have

Good Luck & Have Fun :smiling:

Loot is not rewarding at all. having legendary, rares and commons all be different strengths really makes them loose there value all together.

upgrading from a legendary (orange) to common (green) is dumb. until you get the beasts collections and the loom going the gear pool makes no sense at all.

Its kind of disappointing to go exploring and open a chest to get an item that's a lot worse then what you are currently wearing.

chests at least should be randomly generated based on your current level.

To clear some confusions up:
- gear is in first place to push main stats
- wear legendary gear for upgrades + trait bonusses
- gear unlocks new transmogs (literally hundreds)
- selling gear is the only steady income source of money for a very long time until you get breeding (nearly at the end of the main story!)
- "best" gear can be bought at tailor in Hogsmeade (legendary gear always on your current level, can easily bought by the money made from breeding -> 2000gold/30 min)

You can do this with the Loom in the Room of Requirement.
You can change traits and upgrade gear.

That's why you sell it for gold.

So you can take a piece meant for level 5 and make it have stats on par for level 30? or whatever level jump you need?

Other then that I'm aware what the loom does, from what I have heard it does not bring the level up on a piece. Just the 3 upgrades and the traits.
