Potion making is lame
I mean really, we click a button and walk away from the game for 15-1 minute while it brews and then come back. You couldn't have done anything to make it more interactive. I mean it didn't have to be as in-depth as Kingdom Come Deliverance alchemy brewing but just having to wait for a timer to tick down is pretty lame for what has been an otherwise really solid game.

That's disappointing. I was hoping to at least be able to experiment and discover recipes like in other games. Ah well. I guess it's a good time as any to stretch and get some water.

I agree. And the timer is often to short to do anything else.
I personally find the potion making fine just as it is. its not a multiplayer game where you need to spend time gathering and craft mix matching to get a potion, or other item.

Yes! I don't like the whole potion and ingredients system! Crafting stations and pots are more or less okay. But I think it would be better not making seeds infinite after buying once and giving an opportunity to sell plants you grow.
My hope is on modders

it a bit lame.. but idk my main issue is - so far it seems to be 1 at a time... i might have the stuff to make 50 potions.. but can only do one at a time.

i mean we can go to a quest and wait for the time to pass for it to be active.. so time clearly isn't an issue..

just let us click/brew - i want to make 10 potion?. let me click then say it'll take 15 minutes or something.

maybe the more expensive desks let you do more then one at once? but really to me that seems like it should be more a speed+quantity bonus. (ie brews faster.. and/or makes more potions per brew)

Have you not purchased the other 2 potion stations in hogsmeade? The 2 potion and t-shape 3 potion bench...

not yet.. i was going to buy one tonight.. but was time for dinner.. just posting a bit before sleepy time. ;)

but i'm guessing they just let you make more then one potion at the same time? like 2 invisibility in 2 different pots? or 3 different ones in each pot? like the plant tables do?

i mean more like - i have 1 pot - i have the stuff and want to brew 10 invisibility potions. - maybe it takes 10 minutes, more to brew them all. fine, at least i'm not clicking, click.. waiting.. hit f.. clicking wait.. f.... clicking.. clicking.. ect.)

would be a nice QOL.. rather than running around between several desks and clicking, click, click to brew one at a time?

(at least with plants its.. well plant and forget.. come back later to gather. maybe add fertilizer if you want. you just got to gather once they are planted.. then wait and gather more.)

i just let the game to give me a random potion with hopping pot... i kinda max out all potion this way...

Potions and herbology aren't even gameplay. They're incremental game mechanics meant for cell phones. Are they going to release microtransactions to speed up timers?

i saw that scroll.. and will likely get it..

but just seems like a idk.. waste with all the plants and stuff we can gather...

i hope there is a dlc.. expansion? or squeal that further expands potions/plants. (not sure how the animal/pet bit is.)

it would be kind of nice to be someone who uses potions/plants as their main forms of defense/attack. (ie rather then that levitation spell.. you throw a potion that does the same thing.. or a plant that rapidly grows and hold target in air, juggles them.. ect.

truly expand the variety of magic, even if only 'cosmetically'

Unfortunately this will need to be a QoL improvement as the upgraded tables are still 1 potion per station. Something else they need to add is when you are at a vendor that has ingredients for sale the tooltip should tell you how many you already have in your inventory to determine whether or not you need to buy it instead of having to actually take the extra time to go into the pause menu to look.

I hope someone can mod in the first time we made a potion.
I thought it was going to be drip few drops of liquid here, throw in some plants, stir till it's finish.

I guess they thought it was going to get boring after awhile?

Honestly would have preferred they go for a "mini game" potion making route. (However simple it is, even if its more time consuming). As opposed to click one button and wait for 10-15 minutes on the other side of the continent

Wish we could at least click "make multiples" and then wait for 300 seconds instead of 30 seconds.

Could do household chores this way while idling away.
Al Capone Feb 12, 2023 @ 10:32pm
for this type of game, it's simple and I like it.
