Slitherin is too nice
Honestly, if not for the colors the npc wear I'd have a great deal of trouble finding any differences at all between Griffindor and Slitherin characters. I think devs played it a little too safe with this game.

The hell you mean? There was a slytherin dude committing animal abuse, attempting to pull whiskers off an animal to make some quick cash.

Also a misconception OP, slytherin aren't all bad or to be bad. They're a house that view themselves ambitious and crave power to be above everyone as the In-Game description says when you pick your house.

Yes, in the Harry Potter timelime, where the Deatheaters all had their kids in that house, so that one day they could help take over the school. Not in the 1800's.
Throughout all the lore you see Slytherin being egotistical and power hungry. It's not just in Harry's time. The writers of this game just chose to make every house full of marshmallows and frosting.

In general, being a ♥♥♥♥ isn't the reason they put you in slytherin. And prior to Voldemort, the house was fairly normal house with no dark past.

Author simply needed someone to play the villain in the books and given the recent world events plus general disposition of holier than thou that sometimes creeps into the house, an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rich boy makes a cut.
The two bodyguards of tweedle Dee and twidle Dumb can be found in any house. They are not evil, just dumb.
Nancy is just a regular girl. Every house has those like her.

Look at Percy Weasley. Is he really any worse than Slytherins? The guy was willing to turn on his own family for a job at ministry.

Hahaha yea sure just ignore the giant student killing snake that was placed in the castle by Salazar Slytherin himself.

The problem is the dialog is the same regardless of your house. They wouldn't be condescending to their own house mates, so if they made them more like that and you chose Slytherin as your house, it would still feel wrong.

It's Alive, it's alive! Necromancy and dark magic. Right. A deadly snake in a castle and it's grounds full of all deadly ♥♥♥♥.

Didn't Hagird sent a couple 12 year olds into forest to find man eating spiders? Is he evil as well now? The progenitor of those spiders was literally his pet after all.

In the Half Blood Prince I think we find out that Harry's dad and his friends were the school bullies of their year. And they were in Gryffindor whereas Severus Snape who was the nice kid being bullied was in Slytherin.

But Slytherin himself was full on evil. Not because he hated muggles, but because he liked torture.

Edmund: "You see, the thing about Heaven, is that Heaven is for people who like the sort of things that go on in Heaven, like, uh, well, singing. Talking to God. Watering pot plants."

Graveney: "Ew."

Edmund: "Whereas Hell, on the other hand, is for people who like the other sorts of things: adultery, pillage, torture — those... areas."

Graveney: "Really?"

Edmund: "Yes! Leave your lands to the Crown, and once you're dead, you'll have the time of your life!"

Graveney: "Adultery? Pillage? Through all eternity?"

Edmund: "Yep!"

King Richard IV: "Well, Graveney? Your decision?"

Graveney: "Very well. I leave my lands to the Crown, and my soul in the hands of the Lord. May He treat me like the piece of refuse that I am and send me to Hell where I belong."

*Slytherin and while I agree the portrayal is bad I think there are good Slytherins. Slytherin is where the upper class and purebloods go

percy was ambitious, makes me think he should have been slytherin
but i guess he didn't want to disapoint his family, unless it would benefit him ofc
he played his cards well in that case
his mom must have been so sad at her own son disowning her like that...

She was. Also very happy when prodigious son returned. The thing is, ambition is indeed part of slytherin values and he would have been perfect there.

ultimately though. The Slytherin being evil comes back to Tom Riddle aka Voldemort and his time there and then later the kids oh his death eaters being there.
