That said, yes, I did expect more snide and condescending behavior.
my one real complaint...
In general, being a ♥♥♥♥ isn't the reason they put you in slytherin. And prior to Voldemort, the house was fairly normal house with no dark past.
Author simply needed someone to play the villain in the books and given the recent world events plus general disposition of holier than thou that sometimes creeps into the house, an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rich boy makes a cut.
The two bodyguards of tweedle Dee and twidle Dumb can be found in any house. They are not evil, just dumb.
Nancy is just a regular girl. Every house has those like her.
Look at Percy Weasley. Is he really any worse than Slytherins? The guy was willing to turn on his own family for a job at ministry.
That doesn't necessarily mean they are all a$$holes.
And the three Slitherins I have interacted with so far aren't exactly angels.
One practices forbidden curses, one has a very bad temper and is definitely an elitist, and the third was the third character I wanted to punch in the game.
"If you want to impress me", I don't want to impress you, I want to make you shut your trap and learn about humility.
Of course, Draco and his ilk played their roles in the books and they were Slytherin. Big part of that idea.
You can be driven and ambitious and still have morals. They are not mutually exclusive.
Yes, in the Harry Potter timelime, where the Deatheaters all had their kids in that house, so that one day they could help take over the school. Not in the 1800's.
It's just that villains of course always seek power, just for evil not good, and that's why the Hogwarts villains you see tend to be from Slytherin.
I haven't gotten too far into the game, but Sebastian, who's in Slytherin, keeps making comments about breaking rules, getting into trouble, avoiding detention, participating in secret forbidden duels, so I mean the "bad" guys are there.
I understand harry potter is meant for a younger audience but as a long time harry potter fan now as an adult it feels way to childish and watered down compared to the later harry potter movies where everyone isn't constantly happy all the time. I mean there's dark wizards wandering around..
Do you tell some kid to grow a spine and keep something they had you get because they couldnt?
Its YOUR actions that are evil or not. Not the NPC's in the game.
