There is no problem with the game not having enough talent points to take everything. Respec is something that will likely be added or modded in later though. The game is easy enough that I doubt it's required.
By the time you reach max level as well, there are only a few talents you don't get so not a huge deal breaker. I don't mind it either way TBH, if they add it in great, if not, oh well (respec).
Edit: Currently at lvl 29 and am sitting on 2 talents because nothing is even standing out to me cuz all the stuff I wanted I already got. Everything else is just "extra".
Just take what you think looks nice, it's not like it's a matter of life and death to pick one perk over another.
And what is this "live with your choices" nonsense? This is a 50+ hour game. Are you telling me I'm supposed to spend dozens of hours again if I find out that some talents are less useful than others and I want to redo my talents? What the hell does that have to do with choices that matter?
Why are you defending bad design? Are you so desperate to see this game in a better light than it deserves?
There's not much build variety anyway.
It matters a lot in stat-heavy games where build diversity is large. (part of why I dislike having limited respecs per playthrough in Elden Ring)
In this game it's literally a difference between hitting multiple enemies with a cast or charging your supers faster.
It can be added but it doesn't disrupt flow of the game or is a serious issue.
I feel they should have been tied to something else like Merlin shrines.
If you read every talent you will know what is useful and what sounds pointless and a good amount are pointless.
ikr? like who is going to invest in the plants (other than maybe on the hardest difficulty?), or potions that only last like 3 seconds? i can understand investing in the one talent for the focus potion since that is literally the only useful one since it lets it reapply, but everything else is just meh in that tree. as for the others you just invest in the core tree and for the other trees what you know you use a lot, and the curse tree when you can (if you want to use the curses).
i think you get 35 total points you can allocate in the end, so plenty of points to work with.
What does annoy me is the number of spell slots though. It's abundantly clear the four spells per loadout and 4 loadouts is designed for a console with controllers in mind, but my god is it annoying when playing on PC. I have enough buttons for every spell, just let me use them.
You dont need to be a master of everything because you wont use everything.
