what is the game like to play just want to no your thoughts on the game.

running/flying around in and around Hogwarts, doing side-quests and mainstory, harvesting herbs and other things, lockpicking house-doors to get more stuff, roaming the world and more.

for harry potter nerds a disney land, for all other a beautiful and relaxing themepark AAA casual game. ;)

After the long tutorial, I find the pacing good - go from exploring and finding, to side quests, to main quest, and back to exploring etc

Little to no RPG elements. Mediocre performance so far. If you are a fan of the books and the movies and don't expect RPG-stuff (like class schedules, functional day/night cycle, House Points, night curfew, prefects guarding at night, relationships, simple actions like sitting, sleeping, ect) you will like it.

Also the story is set and choices basically don't matter. You can't be an "evil" wizard or a "good" wizard. It's not Elder Scrolls: Hogwarts.

Character creation is very limited. You just select some premade faces and features.

Character customization though is really cool. You can change the appears of all of your gear as the appearance of other gear you have unlocked. There's a lot of variety in that regard

No character creation. You choose between ~15 presets and can only swap their eye color, hair, brows, and moles. That's why if you see screenshots from players, almost all their characters look the same. Basically all female white-characters have preset 1, for example.

You can't change any facial features.

Combat can be a bit tricky in hard difficulty. I think one should only play hard

It's Witcher 3 and Assassin's Creed-esque. The combat is very satisfying. Spells feel very good to cast and I never get tired of it because of how it feels. But it can be tricky to memorize all your spell load outs even if you eventually organize each load out by color. You also have to get good at knowing when to block and when to dodge. I've been pretty bad at dodging everything because that's how most games with these combat systems are. So, combat is easy to get into but takes a bit to master compared to Witcher 3 and Assassin's Creed. There are a lot of puzzles in the game and some of them remind me of BotW. Hogwarts is gigantic and almost maze-like. You can do side quests that will take you to secret locations you didn't know existed. Open-world exploration is based on flying to get around. While there are plenty of paths and roads, the activities and crafting materials all feel like they're meant to be sought out from the skies and flied to. It feels pretty fun to fly but it also feels like it's never quite fast enough even with broom upgrades.

The combat is rather similar to the arkham games. Most of the game however, is exploring and solving puzzles.
