I mean on the in-game HDR calibration screen or whatever it’s called.

LG C2 42" owner here using it as a PC desk.
For me the best settings is :

HDR WHITE POINT 790
HDR BLACK POINT at 0
HDR BRIGHTNESS 18
USER INTERFACE BRIGHTNESS 1.0

Using game optimizer at 100% brightness with color temp at 25 warm and HGiG as tone mapping.

How did you determine the white point?

try going white point 6000
black point 0
brightness leave at 25 and also leave UI at 1.0

What i've noticed is the white point can be maxed out without any clipping or issues

What does white point 6000 specifically do?

Grab Windows HDR Calibration from the M$ Store, set it, then adjust in game HDR settings to your monitor (1000 nits for me) to white point / black point 0 for me

It believe it should be set to the maximum nit value of your display.

On a side note, does anyone running HDR have an annoyingly bright transition in to/out of the vivariums?

What it "should" do is be your peak nit value, For example 1000nits on a 1000nits monitor or tv however the games doing something further perhaps tone-mapping down to your display cause there's no clipping or issues at max

This is the worst advice ever... do not do this! lololol.

OP, I believe your panel max's out at 690 nits... so around 700 should be good for White Point.
