Just really let down by Hogwarts Legacy
I know it's been said time and time before but the performance in this game is something to be desired. I was so hyped for this game ever since the first trailer. I couldn't wait to get into the wizarding world and start my adventure that every Harry Potter fan has wanted for years.

I've got a 3070 and have to play the game on low settings with dlss just to get some stable framerate. The amount of lag and framedrops not only makes me feel sick after playing for a bit, but also totally breaks the emerging feeling you are supposed to have while playing this game.

I really was hoping for the best with this game. The Devs won't even acknowledge or say anything about a potential patch. Heck, last day or two noone knew if that small update was a patch or not, devs do not communicate with the community for a game they said they put their heart and soul into.

Hopefully they get things sorted out I would love to explore everything this game has to offer. Sorry for my rant, but Harry Potter in general has always meant a lot to me.

It could be worse. At least you weren't forced to move away from your superior Ugandan magic school using superior Ugandan wandless magic ...

Honestly, if it wasn't for me seeing this issue with a family member having it I would think it was some made up crap to try and damage the games sells to go along with the other feeble attempts. But it does seem to be happening to some people, Not sure whats causing it but me and my 2060 seem to do just fine. Maybe it's a CPU and ram thing instead. I got a Ryzen 9 5900X and 32GB ram. I am using a standard SSD drive. That said I did use the benchmark the game provided and keep the game at medium settings. Perhaps the difference is I'm not trying to over power my machine idk.

I've tried everything the community has offered from custom scripts, making sure gpu acceleration was on, dlss update, made sure all my drivers were up to date, edited the engine file, set limit to shader cache, used nvidia control panel settings, tried capping frames, tried with vsync on and off, tried all the different taa, dlss, on off you name it.

Also I don't use Ray Tracing

Yeah I'm using a 3070 with a i7-10700k 32gb ram so I shouldn't have any issues. One of my friends is using a 4090 and having the same problem. It's not a hardware issue it's a memory leak/ poor optimization issue sadly

Wouldn't a memory leak/poor optimization affect everyone though? It seems more likely there is some conflict somewhere with specific setups. Or possibly software the game dislikes VPNs, Anti Virus, Firewalls. Honestly it could be anything I even heard that nvidia stated discord was screwing with performance a while back. Although that should of been patched by now.

I do believe it is a memory leak issue from what I've read. It's taking up so much ram resources it's crazy

At this point it's like yeah prob should cause everytime a game comes out on pc you gotta tweak it and troubleshoot yourself lol

lol no ty 60 fps at lower than low settings on PC or 30 fps at semi decent graphics. I've got a ps5 and when i saw the comparisons with PC i swore to never touch that abomination.

Mine is running find on my PC the OP just does not know what the settings do apparently and forgot to turn off RT.
IzayoiSakuya Feb 12, 2023 @ 1:50am
same problem here and i even played 22hrs so far.
i was not able to enter the game after 9hr and i re-downloaded the game and it fixed.
and now, after played 10hrs yesterday, i cannot enter anymore, crashed at shader screen for more than 10 times and i tried all solutions i can find.
damn

I don't have ray tracing on? Did you even read what I had tried? :theskull:

what is your cpu? game runs fine on much lower specs, mostly notice 16gb ram people and bad cpu's causing issues
