Braces are covered by Medicaid in america, which is the insurance poor people would use (surprise, its FREE! and it covers pretty much everything outside of cosmetics). It only stops being free when you make over a certain amount a year, but even then there's cheap insurance options. Unfortunately, that's just how capitalism works. British are known for crooked teeth not bad dental hygiene... Same as Japan. It's now fashion in japan for girls to have crooked teeth.
