I agree more camera options would improve things.
Here are some examples if what I would want, made in photoshop:

Umakurokoto thanks also for your response, I ended up trying that and it did make the game run more smoothly but the character/avatar is still positioned to the left. So far no adjustments (FOV, accel, sensitivity) have fixed this. I'll keep praying for a patch/mod.
And I just discovered that you don't even need photoshop to create those images - anyone running Nvidia can press ALT+F2 and position the camera anywhere he/she wants!
Here take a look... https://imgur.com/a/5QtzDYU
I google every single day for a camera mod for this game... I found that there is a VR mod being developed :O
So that proves that a centered camera mod should be more than trivial for someone with experience... I wish I knew modding to do this myself :///
My ESO camera (one of the few games that lets you adjust it), is dead center (not even slightly offset to one side) with center of screen (aimpoint) about 1/2 heads width above the top of their head.
Never found a better camera position in any third person game.
Take NUKE's third image, and put the character so that their feet is basically touching the bottom of the screen, and zoom in so that the top of the characters head is juuuuuuust below vertical center.
Everything seems "off" because of it.

this is exactly what we need
Take my points
Droolguy, that camera angle is insanely good. Never did I think the words 'dead center' would give me so much joy lol! Truly ideal. Great amount of space above the character. Lucky ESO lets players adjust it, all games should offer such flexibility.
halfmonkey, absolutely. Cannot get the 'off' sensation out of my head. Funny because many 3rd person games DON'T use this angle and we can see all the 'magic' regardless!
THIS FIX IS PERFECT
and totally has the ability to center the character!
the cameras for inside/outside are apparently different, so outside you can be centered but inside buildings or smaller hogwarts rooms/halls, the camera will be slightly to the right of the character but no where near as aggressive as the default
- the camera position does not save between game restarts
- the camera sometimes defaults to the original after cutscenes but can be corrected back to custom by tapping a camera adjustment key
-everything from distance to X/Y positioning is possible and playable!
I just noticed that this morning and I'll set it up later today. Fingers crossed.
:D
THE CRAZY GUYS THEY DID IT! The nexus mod is working!

I can finally enjoy this game at ease :)
So happy right now :D
