Why do people hate Hogwarts Legacy?
I am just a person who love the Harry Potter Franchise and I think the game is fun and exciting. I just don't understand why so many people are hating on this game and on J.K Rowling. Can we just get along and find ways to become better for ourselves and in the future? If you don't like the game and/or J.K Rowling, just focus your energy on something else and leave the rest of us alone. J.K Rowling has made mistakes in her life, but so did we. She is a human being after all. We got to do better. Life is short people, just enjoy life and just stop the pointless hate. Thank You.

People hate what they can’t afford

Hating things is fun, more so when you attach a cause to it. Not making lite of anyone's struggles here but its very common on Steam forums to see a torrent of negative things when games come out now. It's just part of the process at this point.

Because the snowflakes need to cry about something and they all hate JK Rowling so because it is in the same world she created, they want to make all the noise.

Also apparently it is labelled anti-semetic because you kill goblins and apparently Jews were called goblins so yeah, there is that too I guess.

The Right is just trolling so they can make the sensitive ones in the Left that are protesting get upset. Try not to let it get to you.

Oh gawd... Imagine if there were Wizard forums.... This is the equivalent of the Acient Pureblood families trolling the Muggleborns..... Both are no better than the other (albeit, some have more money) but both don't like each other for some bizarre reason, yet they feel the need to let the other know about it. Constantly. Instead of doing what normal people do when they don't like something.... Ignore it. All the while, a huge mix of us (muggleborn to pure) are getting along just fine, trying to learn how to brew potions and change the colors of our walls.... o-o

Honestly- I think it’s because for whatever reason they decided to boycott the game, in order to make themselves feel better they decided that nobody should play/enjoy the game. It’s become more of a “if I can’t have it, nobody can” imo. I mean, they are basically throwing the book of -isms and -phobics at it.

Don't worry about the opinions of others. Enjoy the game if you wanna' enjoy it.

Honestly I think this explains way too much of the hate.

They just hate our beloved JK Rowling cause she is a pretty women
This board is a lot better today so i don't want to go too far back down the rabbit hole again but...

There are 3 kinds of "haters".

People legitimately disappointed in the scope of the game, Many of us wanted more of a hogwarts sim and less of a linear story about a special older student who spends much of their time doing things that would get you expelled in the books.

A small amount of people legitimately boycotting and protesting it because of Jkr's views.

Compared to the above, a massive amount of right wing trolls who among other things, false flag themselves as lgbtq allies to try and rile up other conservates and make the actual protesters look bad. Then you have even more trolls posting racist or otherwise biggoted content, a ton of negative reviews were like this yesterday, Haven't checked to see if Valve cleaned them up today.

Let's be real that's every game adaptation of the series. It would be really hard to make a sim at all, though of course I would want one.

Though I would say this one is hands down the best in the franchise. Not a surprise given the age of its competition, but it's a much better game than I expected myself.

The irony is they bought the game to own the libs and Hogwarts Legacy has the most visibility and diversity of minorities and marginalized groups that any mainstream game has had since... ever. Thanks guys!

I'm considering writing my first ever article about this. These forums been pretty wild for the last few days.

"GamerGate 2: Hogwarts Boogaloo" would be a damn good title.

My hypothesis is that all the old 'Pro GG' people from back in the day are saying "play the wizard game, have fun, SJWs can kick rocks", whilst the 'Anti GG' people are the ones harassing twitch streamers just for playing a damn video game because... JK Rowling is not progressive enough on the TQ (trans question) or something.

I think bare minimum we needed unique main quests for each house rather than one for all 4, and Quidditch.
