Stutter fix that really helped me (No Control Flow Guard or other stuff that doesn't really help)
Hey guys,

I just browsed Reddit for possible performance fixes and I found one that actually helped me! Huge thanks to FriedBongWater on Reddit!
Here's the link to the fix: https://www.reddit.com/r/HarryPotterGame/comments/10zeh67/pc_performance_tips_this_got_rid_of_low_fps_dips/

From their post:

1. Enable hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling (I had turned this off because it caused issues in another game, I can't remember which one). Windows search for "GPU" to find this setting, a restart is required.

2. Navigate to "AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor" and backup "Engine.ini". Add the following to the bottom of the file and save it:

[SystemSettings]

r.bForceCPUAccessToGPUSkinVerts=True

r.GTSyncType=1

r.OneFrameThreadLag=1

r.FinishCurrentFrame=0

r.TextureStreaming=1

r.Streaming.PoolSize=3072

r.Streaming.LimitPoolSizeToVRAM=1

[ConsoleVariables]

AllowAsyncRenderThreadUpdates=1

AllowAsyncRenderThreadUpdatesDuringGamethreadUpdates=1

AllowAsyncRenderThreadUpdatesEditor=1

3. This only applies to Nvidia users, set the shader cache size to 10GB in Nvidia control panel global 3D settings.

Notice: If you have a GPU with more than 8GB VRAM, you can change the pool size from 3072 to 4096, this should help even further.

Again, huge thanks to FriedBongWater, real life Bonglord

that's not how PC's work.

Just because it didn't fix the issue for one, means nothing about other people. PC's have innumerable parts all with different driver requirements.

Not saying this 'isn't' awfully optimized, but it certainly doesn't make the OP a liar lol.

It'll 100% be gameusersettings. Well, not 100%, but usually it would be, will test.

Edit:
engine.ini settings: [Core.System]

gameusersettings: [SystemSettings]

The setting option for this already exists, so it would 100% make sense for it to belong in there.

Could well work as the OP says, but may just be worth testing both if needs be.
