It doesn't from what I could tell
It does not. The game uses it's own customizable feature in order to visually distinct wands from one another.
There is zero advantage/disadvantage in any of the choices you make. Also, wood type, length, hardness, and core have no visual differences. The only thing you see is the wand type and color you choose. The rest are just text.
I changed the wood and core after reading the lore on the wood type meanings, cores, and pliability.
You have control over what the wand looks like when you make it, so I think the wood type and everything are just for RP.
I'll have different wands for different playthroughs of different character types in different houses and whatnot, but this first playthrough Im just having a good time.
