Washed out colors?
Everything seems a bit washed out. Like some sort of greyish layer is on top of textures. I find the game otherwise beautiful, even like this, really, but is if this haze could be removed--maybe somewhere in the menus--please advise. I should dare to think that the game should have full colors?

EDIT: After much questioning that led to half-baked attemps and unheard game feedback tickets, I've created my own vanilla-friendly ReShade. Nothing strange, fancy, or overdone. I dare say this is how the game was supposed to look in the first place. Feel free to try it out, guys.

yeah, thought so too.
Thing is, with HDR enabled and properly set up, the Colors are very crisp.

But without HDR , for example on my Laptop or Steam Deck, the Games really looks washed out.

Thanks for the reply. Alas, my Philips LCD doesn't support HDR even though my nVidia would be able to.

Is there some other solution perhaps? Anybody else?

Almost sounds like film grain you're referring to? I disabled that and Depth of Field

yeah it is very washed out when the proper lighting is not applying cool effects. The game could really use Global Illumination ray tracing to properly lit surfaces and make the lightning consistent. When the sun is striking or at night, the game looks really good though.

Initially, I thought the same, but it's not that. I must now concur, it's unfortunately really a sort of a bug/lack of design and it's about the HDR stuff. I've googled a bit. I don't have a HDR-able monitor, only the graphics card, so I need to wait for some patches or maybe use re-shade or something.

But I found one setting at nVidia panel that helped a little bit. It's called. "Digital vibrance" and it is under the "Adjust desktop color settings' at nVidia Control Panel.
Steered the slider from 50 to 72, game looks a bit more vibrant.

I never "Apply" the values, just leave the settings like that, and when I finish the game, I just hit cancel button at nVidia Control Panel, so that I have the default setting for everything else again without much of a fuss.

I mean, thanks for the answer, it does alleviate the lack of colors a bit, however, mostly through the sharpening, not by making them more vibrant :(

Ok, so I've tried the "more bloom" version of the said mod, and switched off "Curves" in the re-shade menu in-game. I think the FakeHDR does most of the job, switching that off showed me what game looked like before.

Still probably not how the game should look, but it's much better. Thanks, man! Appreciated.

Try turning off Fog...worked for me. Easy and reversible at will:

Great workaround too! And yeah, I don't care much for that fog. Just need to try it, if this doesn't make the "good" fog go away. Like in literally foggy places and stuff. But even if that were the case, thanks again.

I have been watching a million youtube videos on how to fix this game
Saw this on the color problem - go to the nvidia control and find the color slider control - mine was at 50 - video said try 80 - I liked 70

Are you a NVIDIA user? If so, hit Alt + Z in game to open up the ShadowPlay bar. There should be filter options on the left that will allow you to add color/contrast enhancements.

Yes, I am running mine at 80, it seems to need more saturation than most games that's for sure. I normally bump my color up when running HDR anyway. I disabled Fog in the game and now it looks awesome IMHO. I was just flying the broom down a tree lined river and it is one of the best looking games I have played. But with all that darn fog it really muted things too much for my liking. And then having the fog inside the buildings was what pushed me to figure out how to stop rendering fog at all and it may have helped FPS but I haven't tested it.

1. Go to AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

2. Open engine.ini with Notepad

3. Add this at the bottom:
[/script/engine.renderersettings]
r.fog=1
r.VolumetricFog=0

4. Save the file.
