Is the game worth the hype?
really want this game, but have to wait a little because $60 is a little steep right now. I just wanna know is it worth all the hype coming from a harry potter fan?

It's worth it if you have the expendable income. I wouldn't go into debt over it or anything.

Depends, do you have a good PC or are you a console player?

PC> Not right now

Console> Maybe yes.

Why? Well currently PC chads are experiencing issues at least a certain % of us are including me.

Console chads haven't been vocal about their performance with the game so I will assume it runs fine on console.

So if you are on PC and you have under the recommended settings I suggest waiting for optimization updates because your game will have massive FPS drops all around.

EDIT: The game itself is amazing in my opinion. It's got a lot of little details and hidden areas to explore later on, definitely worth the try but also do avoid the steam discussions for now as people still try to spoil the story and ending as I have had done for me.

So I suggest

1. Avoiding any discussions on steam for now unless you want to get spoiled

and

2. if you have a beast of a PC then yes, you should buy it (So long as you have the money for it and not risk your livelyhood)

No. The game is riding high on general HP hype as well as the "woke" boycott battle. The game is rather mediocre. Very glitzy when it works (for PC) but not a lot to praise once you look beyond the makeup.

The game is fantastic and worth every penny

I'm having no issues on PC, but a lot of people are complaining. I think there are some day 1 bugs, *possibly* affecting nvidia video hardware more so than AMD.

Note: I say this because the comments I've seen from people complaining have been from nvidia users and I have an amd card. That's hardly scientific.

That being said, I'm enjoying the hell out of it, and I'm only a moderate potter fan.

It all depends, it shares a lot of the open world grind with mostly repetitive challenges around the world. But let's be honest how would you approach open world gameplay? It definitely isn't as detailed as let's say RDR2 when it comes to unique interactions. But to be honest it is not a bad game in of itself. I personally enjoy the HP universe and magic in general so maybe it is just my nostalgia.

But I like this game and I never felt bored so far in my 20 something hours of playing. There are a few things I would enjoy such as maybe if they added seasons as the story progresses. But that is just my own personal wishes. I'd love to see a snowy version of Hogsward and Hogsmeade.

It's not for me, but that is because I am cheap, and don't want to spend that much on a game. I will probably get it when it gets a large discount. From what I see, however is the game looks pretty good, but there is a lot of people complaining about bugs.

Yes, 20+ hours and I'm not even half there.

Its a genuinely good game. You can feel the love and dedication the devs had for the franchise. Presentation is top notch, voice acting so far has been on point and combat feels really tight. I honestly didnt expect the game to be this good.
Yes. IMHO the game lives up to the hype and its fantastic. Great story, voice overs are done well, Combat is fun, huge game to explore, .

Depends on whether you're easily impressed by nicely painted superficial game content and fan service and whether you like "THE MESSAGE" or whether you've got a brain.

I mean, if you love Harry Potter then yes.

I think it's a bit harsh saying everyone who plays this game is brainless, sometimes its just better to accept that different people have different preferences and tastes. Or maybe you just don't want to admit that for once this Triple A game is not as bad as the latest releases.

Don't know about you but I'd much rather have games like this rather than WH darktide which launched with even worse issues and has a major cut in terms of content.

Or other triple A games that released lately and have been massively overpriced and delivered very little.

Everyone has tastes, at least respect people's decision.
