Softlocked?

I recently completed the quest to get house emblems for the house chest, and when I slotted them all in, the chest opened but I got no reward. When I went to do other quests, I was unable to talk to the NPCs to start them. I'm pretty sure I'm just straight up unable to continue the game at this point, because the day 1 patch didn't solve anything. I'd rather not lose a save with 50% completion, so does anyone have any solutions?
