Female Faces

The female character faces all look 40 years old and look like they smelled something bad. The males look good and youthful. I'm so confused?

Can we please have better face options for the female characters? We also need makeup options.

You are just now catching on to this trend? This crap is done on purpose to fight the male gaze. This practice of ugly female characters have been around since at least Dragon Age Inquisition.

It is weird how they uglify the women in games, even deliberately making the characters into ugly version of the actress that plays them when they base the character on the actress in the first place.

I agree. It's annoying as hell, I wanted to make the character look like myself and it made me really sad. ♥♥♥♥ the male gaze whatever the ♥♥♥♥, they're 15 y/o, why do they look like they're at the end of their 40's?? I can't wait for mods.

Funny enough, take any "female" preset and apply a male haircut to it. You can hardly distinguish that they are female. They all look like boys because they all have crooked noses, wide jaws, weird cheekbones, etc.

It is as if the devs purposefully decided to make females ugly.

Currently there are female main character face bugged. every female face look the same in real gameplay no matter what you choose in the character creation (male faces got no problem every faces unique as it created)

Exactly this.. spend 2 hours on char creation, couldnt get one to work. Pretty in the creation screen, but as soon as u start the game it felt like all faces looked the same. They somehow seemed to suddenly have botox filled emotionless foreheads and puffy faces as if they had done cheek implants or are on crack or something. Nothing wrong with either of those ofc, but it IS if you didnt create it to look like that yourself. They look SO different from the creation screen, and the jack sparrow movements when idling really confused me as they didnt suit the character i wanted to make, constantly smelling farts or pulling a toughboi face. The game tells you the character is supposed to be a 5th year student aswell. The character should therefore be around 17 years old ish right, yet has zero boobs or butt, even though girls that age have a B cup on average where I am from, so imo that should be an option. Character creation is important for me in most games, but all of this seemed extra shocking to me in this game somehow. Probably mainly because its the hogwarts world and all, so it carried extra expectations. Been dreaming of this for 21 years ever since i read my first book as a kid, only to see my one chance of running around hogwarts as a female looking like my 17 year old self DENIED! Ranted about it towards my male friends, but they told me their male character was decent regarding face movements and voice. I decided to give it a try and start the game with an ugly char, and discovered how INSANELY pretty the world and every little detail in it is designed, meaning out of all things, it really was JUST the female char creation that was flawed imo. I was fuming and about to reroll to a male character as all the animations seem to fit males only anyway, but then i discovered you can use masks ingame, so i just use those instead. Problem solved people! xD Found some nice clothes along the way aswell, and am now enjoying this otherwise marvelous game with a character i like, also cuz 90% of the game i can just look at her back anyway :)

TL;DR : Dear developers, if you read this, I do understand that there are other priorities that require your attention first, like the controversy it caused or fps/crash stuff people are reporting (havent seen a single glitch myself yet though) If you however find any room to fix the female character creation in future updates, and give us our female features back just like pretty professor Garlick for example, it would be sooo much appreciated you have no idea! Thanks for making this game for us tho <3

P.S. rereading this, I noticed i used a lot of gender-related words in this post. As this might be a sensitive subject, know that i am just describing my own experience and absolutely did NOT intent to insult any reader whatsoever. If i somehow did, my sincere apologies.

Pure speculation - I wonder if they want to make the women look like that to make the trans more comfortable and identify with them more rather than an unattainable Hollywood female? We know that there are features in the game purely to pander to certain politics and feelings.
