Why are Harry Potter fans so hateful?
Just seems weird to me that fans of this series are displaying some of the most hateful and angry remarks towards others I've ever seen. Not trying to start anything, I'm just kind of baffled and saddened at the state of human decency right now.

Maybe "others" shouldn't have tried to cancel JKR or the game just because she doesn't want to say that men are women or have men in her bathroom. Can't imagine why that wouldn't generate hate...

Really? The harry potter game we all fantasised about for 20+ years has finally came to existance and we're all just sitting here debating politics. Bugger politics, I waited 20+ years to play this game, so I'm playing it. Have fun kiddies :)

Unisex bathrooms are the answer. Everybody poops.

You will find this anywhere there are politics involved in any aspect of gaming, and it's always one small but extremely vocal group of people trying to tell everyone else what to think vs another equally vocal group of people loudly resisting. It goes around and around an almost always devolves into what you have here.

I was making an extremely obscure Phsyconauts 1 reference, there's a character who is obsessed with conspiracy theories and says things like "What else do they know? What are they lying about?". And he also says "Who is the Milk Man" a lot. Spoiler; it turns out that he is the Milk Man lol.

The fact that I made that obscure of a reference at all was quite autistic on my part, but I found it a lil' funny. Anyway thanks for coming to my TED talk lol.

That game may be on my Wishlist. Funny thing about conspiracy theories these days is they are around 6 months from becoming true.

Not as hateful as the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that literally bully streamers or anyone that has fun with the game. Not to mention the pathetic campaign of trying to spoil it.

How do you bully people online? If you don't like what you hear or see, keep scrolling, mute, or block. Curious because it sounds fun.

The whole point of being a streamer is to enjoy games together with your community. When you see morons harassing you in chat constantly it ruins the whole mood and you can't just ''scroll past them''.

At best you can have a good mod team that deletes them before you even see but that is near impossible to get.

I'm not going to rehash all of her tweets here, many of which are frankly infantile.

My basic rule of thumb is, if you have a problem with other people being who they are, then the problem is probably you, not that other person or people.

JK Rowling is intolerant of trans people being who they are, wholly and outspokenly intolerant.

Naturally, other intolerant people are attracted to that mindset.

It's pretty easy to let people be who they are, btw. You just have to not be intolerant, not a hard thing to do.

In any case, we're now in a cycle of intolerance.

You are being intolerant of people who don't buy the ideological imposition that is "trans people are who they say they are".

How far do you take that? If I decide Im 'Trans' and i choose to identify as a retired black woman with a peg leg, do I get disability and a pension?

You really SHOULD rehash her tweets because she constantly espouses in them how much she loves trans people.

Every time I have gone looking for the things she's done/said that are so horrible I never actually find them. Just people talking about how horrible those things are except for one thing, something like: "The LGBTQ community is like a careless parent with a wicked backhand" (I thought was a reference to the Dursley's and clever) which, in light of how they seem to pick up something and viciously go at it no matter the reasoning, seems to make perfect sense.

Personally, I believe there should be some kind of separation though I have no idea how do it that would be acceptable. I saw on the news about a man who raped two women then chose to identify trans before being prosecuted/sentenced and is now in a mixed prison.

It's all very fine for them to ask people to accept them for who they are but then they get angry and attack people who feel uncomfortable about sharing a changing room with them...?

From the people in here who have contributed their own views I imagine that most LGB are just getting on with their life like everyone else. 'Equal rights' not 'seeking fights'.

There's no 'ideological imposition.'

You're suggesting just by someone existing as trans in the world, they're somehow imposing on you.

By that logic, anyone vaguely outside the step of your own social norms is 'imposing' on you.

Folks have a right to exist in the world in the manner comfortable for them. I don't mind if they go by he/she/they. It's not an imposition if they choose whatever's comfortable for them. Rather, it's a far greater imposition if I were to suggest they can't be who they are because it doesn't match up with some idea I have in my head about who they should be.

thats simply not true.
the ideological imposition is that we accept this standard of "self identification" that we accept gender as distinct from sex, that we accept silly shibboleths like "trans women are women".

What does it mean to "exist as trans"? Someone wants to think they are "trans" or a fish with legs i Legit don't care, it becomes a problem when they want to force me to believe it too.

There's no imposition on you to let other people live their lives. It's not an imposition to just let another person be who they are.

If you are that weak minded just remember. The more you do something, the better you get at it. You can get used to anything.

They learned it from the books, i'm not sure if you read them or not but JK Rowling is REALLY obsessed with concepts like PURE BLOOD which is obviously talking about Racial Superiority.

All the most powerful wizards are PURE BLOODED. She has some other very hateful takes as well.

Just...oh boy. I always wondered what crazy looked like, but here it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is.

Well I agree that the trans can be too much, but what you are implying was not what happened on these forums yesterday lmao it was some of the most hateful nazi ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I have ever read targeted against blacks and homosexuals, describing in posts how one day they will commit suicide and the people they love will be so happy about it
Words like nazi and transphobe are losing meaning more and more cause people fling them all the time, regardless of how much it applies. There's always a very small minority of truly vile individuals in every group and there's always those trying to make them seem more numerous ore important.
Not yesterday on these forums. Many many of the posters was all and exactly what a Nazi is supposed to be

No imposition? You missed the insurrection in Oklahoma? We all have to live together. People don't want to live next to people that lie about what they are.
NursingNinja Feb 9, 2023 @ 8:13pm
I honestly haven't seen that at all. I've seen a minority of people who say you have to not play the game in order to be their ally. I have no problem with them living their lives and doing their thing but I'm not trying to join their thing they got going on either. I just want to play the game.

And what about letting me be who I am?
(Someone that doesn't believe in gender ideology)

Me not calling you by whatever pronoun is not stopping you from living your life, you getting me fired because I don't bend the knee, is.
