Is Natty incompetent? (Crossed Wands)

Tried Crossed Wands with Natty as a partner, thought I was just sucking really hard as I kept dying again and again.. I couldn't figure it out. I wasn't even hit, my character would collapse while in Protego or in the middle of the Ancient Magic throw animation.. so I stopped, gve it a rest.. came back.. picked Sebastian as my partner and cleaned house effortlessly.

So from what I can tell.. damage done to your partner is dealt to you. So with that in mind... why is the AI for Sebastian so much better? Or is there some kind of bug involving Natty?

The incoming magic that causes the red warning circle cannot be protected against with Protego, you must dodge out of the way. If you try to Protego through it, you will take damage inside your Protego bubble.

That said, I had a challenge for dodging a certain number of enemies and casting incendio on a certain number of enemies at the same time that I had the Championship match of Crossed Wands, and I was able to win that match without using a Wiggenweld potion while I was constantly dodging and casting incendio as soon as it was off cooldown.

I won every battle solo, 1 v 4 also. Focus on using protego a lot, holding Q longer will cast a spell against the enemy, they will not be able to cast a spell for some time, focus on damaging one target and reflect the other attacks. Keep spaming spells and use protego, sometimes they will cast spells one after another, be sure to press q often, spmetimes 2 or 3x after another, make sure u use ctrl also do dodge spells. Make sure to have some heal potions available. Wish you good luck.

I never had difficulty and am doing duel on hardest diff solo. You just need to Git Gud.

I'm sorry it could be a bug, because when I quit the duel and changed partners, suddenly the constant dying stopped.. which is why I asked if it was Natty's fault.

I had noticed that if you failed and then restarted quick enough, one or two of the enemy students would just murder sprint across the room behind me and start shooting at me before the duel started and I could move

you may have gotten hit by fire. you wont see dodge if the attack is meant for your partner and if your close to them you will get hit (this happened to me).

Any partner in Crossed Wands is incompetent lmao. Even with Sebastian, I ended up doing everything myself. It really feels like they initially intended for duels to only be solo, and only tacked on "partners" in the last minute.
