Target does not work

I'm stuck in a duel with four characters. I am only stuck with casting spells to one person, even when that target is defeated. I'm not able to target other characters in that duel.
I tried changing targeting camera, I tried changing keybinds, I tried using Lock-on-target, ...
Nothing seems to work.

Did someone else found a way to fix this? thank you.

I had the same problem. I run close to them and started spamming all spells on them without targetting and finally i defeated them this way.

At first I thought this was buggy and got kinda salty about it. Then I realized there's a setting that focuses lock on to targets that are directly in front of you. I can't remember exactly what it's description is but it says something about being able to target enemies outside of your view. Once I messed with this setting and turned it from whatever default setting it was on the lock on targeting system felt much more responsive and fluid.

Same here, trying to break shields, but my character dosnt care, and just shoots the ability on one of the other enemies instead.. Camera-realtive targeting setting dosnt matter. I wish i could just turn it off the auto targeting all togeather

This driving me mad too. I'm stuck at the fight with 4 people. I can't swap targets. I've tried remapping keybinds, I've tried locking and unlocking. I get stuck locked onto the opponent who's behind two others, and before I can move around (because reaiming to a target closer to me doesn't work) I'm defeated.

I also really really wish there weren't five different 'loading screens' in order start the fight again. You come out, you talk to Lucien, you choose an answer, Lucien answers you, then the 4 opponents do their chit chat (and skipping takes as long as the chat does)

Is there another way to practice combat other than the Cross Wands? I'm almost at the rage-quit stage.

I managed to get it working again by just restarting the game. Seemed to be a bug on my end.

I've got the same bug. Target lock seems to have little effect... I lock onto the purple shield opponent, and my spells target the yellow or red shielded opponent instead.

In addition to this bug, I have another (and worse) bug. After a couple retries of the Crossed Wands championship, target locking fails altogether and I am unable to lock onto any targets by pressing right-stick. Restarting the game from a previous save fixes target lock, but then the same bug reoccurs after a couple of retries of the duel.

Same problem,

Having difficulties to switch to targets and some times it randomly casts a spell on a target that inst locked`. game is enjoyable but due to not being able to swap through targets fights can get infuriating

There is an option in the SETTINGS to disable camera assisted aiming and enabled more of a manual aiming system.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MANUAL AIMING OVER CAMERA BASED AIMING.

This was honestly the worst part of the game for me. It was damn near impossible to target any individual and knowing who you're targeting is a headache. They need to allow you to disable this BS and use mouse targeting like every other game in history. As for disabling camera targeting...it doesn't work. You still need to iron site to do anything but camera targeting. Just add a damn reticle!

How did you manage to win this fight? It's so hard to do and I kinda don't want to reduce difficulty but I might have to.

You could use manual aiming to cast your spell when enemies stand to each other too close. You know, just like aim down sight with gun.

I'm too bad with controller for manual aim. I usually only play KB/M but wanted to switch it up with this game since it seemed fitting somehow. I might have to use KB/M for this fight though.

Controller targeting is broken. During the 2 vs 4 student duel quest I couldn't target some of them, no matter what I did.

I switched to mouse + keyboard and after I got used to it I was far more effective, and targeting worked.

got this problem on pc as well, happens every 3rd or 4th fight.. really annoying, i don't wanna restart my game every time
