Settings for less stuttering.
First this game loves RAM and VRAM.
If you have lower than 32GB RAM, close every program that is not the game.
If your GPU has 6-8GB of VRAM, lower in game settings to medium and disable RT.
RTX GPU users enable DLSS on QUALITY.

Next exit the game, open any folder and click at the top where it shows the folder path,
it should highlight the path, delete it and put the next path instead and press enter:
%LocalAppData%\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

It should take you to the game's various settings files, backup Engine.ini to your desktop.
Back in the game's settings folder open Engine.ini and copy/paste the settings found in here to the bottom of the file then save:
https://pastebin.com/1jT29r47

If your GPU has 12GB of VRAM edit this line:
r.Streaming.PoolSize=2048
to
r.Streaming.PoolSize=4096

If your GPU has more than 12GB of VRAM change it to 6144.

Hopefully Enjoy?

Anyone who claims it can run this game on stable 85+ FPS is lying.

Builds considered? Settings considered?
I am doing perfectly fine on Ultra settings even though recommended settings for my hardware was High.

Really happy to hear!
You are welcome, i have spent hours testing all the settings, what works and what not.
Also thanks for taking the time making a comparison image.
Enjoy this magical world :)

For sure, I'm having a great time, and the game is beautiful. Thanks again!

I just put only this one and it helped to stabilize the FPS. It's not perfect, but much better than it was.

[SystemSettings]
r.Streaming.PoolSize=4096

And for a better view, I would advise just lowering the gamma in the game. And for sharpness, set DLSS to 0.15.

2K
i7-4790K
RTX 3060
32GB RAM DDR3

My settings touch more than gamma settings, and you also get a better implementation of TAA.
BTW with my settings when using DLSS (recommended on Quality) you should also set sharpness to 0.

I tried and didn't like it. Sharpness is not natural and performance has become worse :kenaconfused: so I left just that one tweak. But I'm glad u helped someone else with all the settings from the link.

lol. This a joke right? I can't stop laughing

This is right, capping at 60FPS will put less load on your hardware, which means less heat generation and power consumption.
I for one don't see a reason to go crazy with FPS numbers especially in non competitive games, 60 is the sweet spot for me, it also means i don't need to buy the latest hardware.
For example when the craze of RT started with the RTX 20 series i only bought the RTX 2060, the logic behind it is that it was a new tech half baked and no way this cards would support it fully, and they couldn't.
Waited untill the RTX 4070 TI, can play any game with RT on 1080p, btw even now RT implementation in games is not always the best, but the hardware is good enough.

Mr. TC i fixed my problem and it had nothing to do with you or your guide. I thought I should let you know. The problem was (for some reason) my TV was not in Game Mode. Well, thanks again for everything

Happy to hear, game away :)
Although what you say is true but if you can going from 60 to 120 is a night and day difference
Well, I got 1070gtx, and... bam it works on medium settings like a charm.
And it looks amazing for it being on medium.

You sir are a hero and a huge benefit to this discussion board. Upon applying your modifications to the engine.ini file my game was running so smooth I bumped it up from 'High' to 'Ultra' and still the same results, AMAZING! Game is running extremely smooth now at a constant 60fps. Here are my other settings in-game for others that have a 3070 and may still be experiencing any minor lag/stuttering after the fix because I am no longer having that issue at all. Again, can't thank you enough!

16gb ram and a 1050 no fps drops or stutter on medium and 1080p...
THE GAME MUST BE ON A M2 SSD...
Has anyone had success using this method on a 6800U device like the ayaneo 2?

I’m on windows 11 yes
part of me thinks windows 11 is an issue.. i got a lot of friends on steam playing teh game on win10 and its running fine for them. I honestly would just wait few more hours guys for day 1 patch and hope that fixes it.

5800x
3080 ti
32gb ram
is my setup

For me, windows 11 seems to be a bit problematic as well. I have two gaming laptops.

1.
i7-8750
graphics card gtx 1060
16gb ram
windows 10

2.
i7-12700
graphics card rtx 3060
16gb ram
windows 11

The game runs better on my 4 year old laptop with windows 10 and an older graphics card, but I'm certainly no expert at this stuff.

This solved all my problems. Doing this runs smoothly:

https://www.sportskeeda.com/esports/how-fix-hogwarts-legacy-fps-stuttering-issues

Another copycat, they spawn regularly now.
Mine is the original, also my guide have those settings already and much more.
Those copycats don't even touch the r.Streaming.MaxTempMemoryAllowed which helps speeding the loading of the texture mips, and many other goodies in my guide.
Thank you, this worked for me. Game went from slideshow to smooth. No more huge drops from 60fps to 10-5 when running from a to b.
I have Ryzen 7 5800X, 32gb ram, rtx 3070 and game installed on ssd.
Graphics settings mostly on high. Foliage, postprocessing and population on medium.
