Settings for less stuttering.
First this game loves RAM and VRAM.
If you have lower than 32GB RAM, close every program that is not the game.
If your GPU has 6-8GB of VRAM, lower in game settings to medium and disable RT.
RTX GPU users enable DLSS on QUALITY.

Next exit the game, open any folder and click at the top where it shows the folder path,
it should highlight the path, delete it and put the next path instead and press enter:
%LocalAppData%\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

It should take you to the game's various settings files, backup Engine.ini to your desktop.
Back in the game's settings folder open Engine.ini and copy/paste the settings found in here to the bottom of the file then save:
https://pastebin.com/1jT29r47

If your GPU has 12GB of VRAM edit this line:
r.Streaming.PoolSize=2048
to
r.Streaming.PoolSize=4096

If your GPU has more than 12GB of VRAM change it to 6144.

Hopefully Enjoy?

Bump, might help someone.

Thanks I’ll have to try this later. What values would you recommend for a 3080 user with only 10 GB vram?
Mr Vana Feb 10, 2023 @ 3:19am
Change r.Streaming.PoolSize=2048 to r.Streaming.PoolSize=3072.
My settings also makes the game colors less washed, if you don't like the colors you can remove these lines:
r.TonemapperGamma=1.5
r.Color.Mid=0.7
r.TonemapperFilm=1

Stop changing the game files. I have 2060 6gb playing on high and it’s very playable on 40-60 fps you just have to wait for a patch

Nebuchedeser, my guide is there to help people, you don't have to change anything if you don't want to.
Though i would suggest you to follow my guide, it helped me and my wife, it was a wreck before my changes on an RTX 2060.

Just disable motion blur, film grain and whatever other two console based crap options between those.
After that restart the game and voila. Haven't seen any stutter since I did that after someone suggested it.
Quality low-high customizing stuff one by one had absolutely no impact on my side.

Welcome to PC gaming

Joxertm22, my settings also touch some Unreal engine streaming properties that help stabilize frame times.
not to mention other nice changes that help utilize your hardware for the better.
Thrown in some nice touches to the visuals, like better skin realism, TAA settings for less shimmering and some more.

Anyone who claims it can run this game on stable 85+ FPS is lying.
Robbiee Feb 10, 2023 @ 3:37am
just wondering are you guys by any chance all on windows 11?
Mr Vana Feb 10, 2023 @ 3:39am
I wouldn't recommend r.Streaming.PoolSize=0, don't trust the engine or game devs to utilize things nicely.
Always limit it accordingly.

At 1080p I get around 75 - 80 fps on high settings. But 1440p tanks to nearly 30. The game definitely has an issue with scaling.

Thx it is now better.
