I can't see how he could have seen anything written inside that vial, apart from him breaking it beforehand, and I don't see how it could have been done since the vial must have been heavily enchanted to withstand any sort of attack...

I also don't understand this médallion story... We just saw that the flask was poured into the basin. But it's still unclear for me and my friend. We have played this prologue two times. A médallion has nothing to do with a flask for me. Rewatching the whole scene there is a ring to put this flask maybe on a collar or to suspend it and on
the side it looks like a metal médallion is incrusted on the side with some (parts of) hearts on it. Well... even.. it's quite difficult to make a connection between this flask which for me is no longer useful since we used it and it is empty and a medallion which we are told about next.
