For anyone having issues, this solution works. I found it on steam after a comment from u/Consistent-Leg-549 mentioned it:

1. Go to the C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy

2. Copy the “Saved” folder somewhere

3. Turn off Steam Cloud Saves

4. Launch the game and create new character, it will create new saves (Make sure to name the new character the same as your old one. It will show up in the main menu as whatever you call this new character)

5. Right after that again go to the C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy and find saves with new character

6. Open your old saves, sort files by date (from last) and open files one by one. You should find LAST save files in which first line started with GVAS (or smth not empty or nul). I knew when my last valid save was so i just used that last good save file

7. Take that file, rename it to the filename from step 5, place to the saves directory and launch the game

8. It should help!

This worked for me and I got everything back!

FAQ:

Q: Can I still use steam cloud saves?

A: Yes! I would start the game and save 1 time after getting your old save working, before turning on steam cloud saves.

After doing so and exiting, It might say there’s a file conflict (when you turn on cloud waves). If so you should be able to select your local save as the save file to use (that’s what I did )

im not sure if im doing it wrong or its just not working for me,

this part is confusing me as there is no files with GVA5 or SMTH.
and what do i change the filename too?

I must be stupid but I don't get it. :/ I created a new save, I got a new save called HL-00-10 and HL-00-11, i replaced it with my most recent save file from the previous folder (the one not recognized anymore) while renaming it the same, and it's not working, it won't load it.
