Is there an evil story path?
Or just one story line for everyone? Does it matter what school house you choose? Does it matter if you learn the unforgivable curses?

No. theres no evil story. You can follow through a character named "Sebastian" to unlock the curses.. but other than that the whole game is of you being a good guy protecting the wizarding world.

except the choices for the side quests where you can demand payment or just keep their stuff.

Plus you do actually kill loads of animals

Really? Using curses doesn't have any effect on NPCs and story? Not even Unforgivable Curses? That's surprising.

I've beaten the game today - I kept spamming Avada Kedavra in front of teachers and all other NPCs.. nobody cares.
This game is as linear as it gets - no matter what you do or choose, it always ends the same.

That's a shame

In combat enemies or your allies comment on it.... but yeah I expected a bit of dialogue when I was happily using Crucio Avada Kedavra and Imperio in front of teachers....

Took 22 hours and I even did something like half of the side-quests - I ain't about to go around the world collecting stuff in a manner that is literally copy-pasted over from assassin's creed with the addition of flying on some wonky broom.

how many hours to finish the game?

This is no slight at anyone but I don't know why so many people thought this was going to be an open, unguided experience, where you can use the death spell on random NPC's and do whatever you like.. That was never in ever of the marketing. Some people just got that idea, then spread that idea, then everyone started thinking it.

i finished the game and the most evil you can be is say a few rude things in dialogue. So no, unfortunately there is no evil path.
