My thoughts exactly. I love harry potter, but the primarily selling points were: Open World and Dark Magic... we didnt really get either of that
Sure, if you think just flying around and fighting 1-2 enemies at a time and collecting the same 10 potion materials is open world, have at it. There needs to be more to it that you can do early game rather than: oh you unlocked merlins trials, heres how to do it, then you go and do them all within an hr. After that youre playing another 2-4 hrs of story for the next unlock which goes the exact same way
an open world game isn't contingent on an open ended story or free roaming friendly story an open world is simply that a world that is open to the player to explore freely.
people need to remember the game has a direction as-well and get over that they won't have everything in the exact way they want it.
Really gets the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ dopamine pumpin when you find a place you only ever saw in a single scene of a movie as a kid.
This is what im hoping for... they can do so much to it to go from this point. the game has so much time lapse available and the knowledge of say other schools, games etc that could come about to open the world up more to a "play how you want, no need for story" feel
