What's up with HufflePuff?
Don't know much about the Harry Potter world. Was leaning towards the puff but don't know if that's a poor choice. I feel like my character would fit better in Griffindor or Slytherin, and be the opposite of a Hufflepuff... but I still kinda wanna be Hufflepuff. An ambitious arrogant Mary Sue who don't need no man, but a HufflePuff ahhhhhhh???
Cool idea? or should I just go Griffindor, and have everyone on notice day one who runs Hogwarts?

If your main characteristics are ambition and arrogance, the former in particular will gravitate you to Slytherin.

Hufflepuff characteristics include a strong sense of justice, loyalty, patience, and a propensity for hard work. If you want to RP seriously and want a Hufflepuff, one or more of these characteristics should rival your Slytherin-like ambition. Maybe your ambition stems from a strong sense of justice and loyalty, and you realize how hard getting to the top and staying there is, and are prepared to put in the effort. Once your traits are in balance, your choice can make the difference since the hat takes it into account, just like Harry's traits and choice did for him.

Can now confirm this as false. Each house has their own quest. The quests are:

Ollivander's Heirloom (Ravenclaw)
The Hunt for the Missing Pages (Gryffindor)
Prisoner of Love (Hufflepuff)
Scrope's Last Hope (Slytherin)

The archetypes are-
Gryffindor: Courage
Ravenclaw: Wits
Slytherin: Blood purity
Hufflepuff: Everyone else, though they seem to call it "Loyalty" now.

They're not particularly rigid, though. Hermione, for instance, is obviously smart enough to be a Ravenclaw.

they are a bunch of wankers.

the very idea of dividing ones student body into different groups.. forcing them to compete aginst each other AS A GROUP is silly and honestly insulting to the ones who show actual skill.

"oh 20 point to *name school here* because this one student did something good.

lame. Students, just like in real life.. should be judge on their own personal merits. regardless of what 'house' they belong to.

Compounded by how arbitrary scoring is. The whole thing is rigged!

It's a game/fiction. Not real life. Get over it and stop with the woke stuff.

As for the OP. Just pick what you feel suits you the most and dont take it too seriously. You can always have a save before the sorting if you want to play again with a diff house.

My High school did exactly this, 4 house (all old headmasters), competed at various things over the year for a house cup, each house was lead by a prefect from that house.

Its the biggest trick on soon to be house students, Gryffindors are the status quo dweebs, Harry Potter with those glases lmao, Neville Longbottom, Ron Weasley, Hermione etc

The Puffs have cooler characters like Cedric, Nymphadora, Lupins etc.

Hufflepuff are like the Rebels, Outcasts, who are also hard working or Loyal.

Meaning they prefer loyal quality tight friendships, & will comfortably become the loan wolf in society, doing their own thing, staying true and go it alone than be with those who are not that.

Yeah another misconception is that Slytherin is bad, they ain't but they are cunning or ambitious, depending on the individual ambitious people can be stuck up & bad, to do anything it takes to get ahead. During the time of Harry Potter the Death Eaters infiltrated Slytherin. Merlin is a Slytherin plus Salazar Slytherin is not evil.

This puts them in Competition with Gryffandors who are Brave or Daring but can also be Teachers Pet or Co*cky as in depending on the individual. like Hermoine's nose up 'leviosaaa' moment.

You can see that Slytherin and Gryffandors are alot more in common but just have their Values in different places.
