Better suited to a controller but M/KB works without hassle.

I started with controller but just switched to keyboard and mouse. I changed 1, 2, 3 and 4 buttons to my 2 side mouse buttons and scrollwheel up and down. I like it more this way than the original mouse and keybaord or controller setup

I'm playing it on PC, which means playing it with keyboard and mouse unless unsupported.

Keyboard is better for me since I have a mmo mouse, though its clear this game was intended for controller

are you able to rebind keys?

keyboard with 6 button mmo mouse works really well. Mouse control of camera is always going to be faster, more precise, and more accurate. Dont even need to lock on. Changing spell sets with scroll wheel is fast as well. I tried with controller for a bit just to see and it was awful compared to kb and m. They actually did a really good job with keyboard and mouse support in this one.

wasd - movement
Q - protection
1234 - spells (on mouse)
5 ancient magic throw (on mouse)
6 ancient magic ult (on mouse)
ctrl - dodge
space- jump
shift - sprint
lmb basic attack
rmb aim
r- reveal
scroll wheel - change spell sets
c- walk
tab - item wheel

plus all of the non combat stuff like map, journal, inventory. so much faster and more intuitive than controller. I think this game has too many buttons to play comfortably with controller.

most of those are default, i only rebound a few keys

oh yeah, when levitating objects, you can set mouse wheel to bring items closer or farther away. very immersive and intuitive.

i dont think it was intended for controller, they put a lot of thought into the kb and m settings

Keyboard and mouse works very very good and totally outperforms a controller, even more so in combat.

They rly did a good job with the kb&m controls in this game.

It was definitely intended for controller. All the gameplay demos showed the controller layout

It was intended for controller.

But they definetly tested kb&m controls deeply as well. I am honestly impressed.
If you are used to play with kb&m, you gonna master combat in no time.

7 keybinds for spells (4 spells, 2 ancient spells, spell set swapping :
a total of 18 spells available) plus dodge, block, aim, and basic attack. that is way more abilities than almost any game intended to be played on a controller. I've played a lot of "PC ports", games made for console and then retrofitted for PC. This game does not feel like that. It feels like it was made for PC (kb and m). my advice to all is give it a try on keyboard and mouse. If you play other games with kb and m you will likely do well and not go back to controller.
