Problem is some gear (some look okay, some others don't or missmatch) is better then what I'm usually wearing (defence and offense seems to go up)
Maybe I'm missing something that clothes can be leveled later on ?
Plus we're obviously unique or abnormal in some way from the very beginning, with some of the magic stuff going on with us.
So my reasoning is that we are a special circumstance for...everything. For some reason.
But traditional British boarding school, which I firmly believe Hogwarts being one, isn't like that at all. It doesn't offer the students negotiation on what to wear during school days other than school approved uniforms regardless of the Year the student is attending, getting transferred from abroad or whatever. The only chance of wearing casual as an official Hogwarts student is during weekends and field trips outside the school to Hogsmeade or wherever else. Hogwarts however does allow some leeway and that students can ease up a bit in the uniform after school, like loosened up ties and tugged out shirts.
So to OP's question, the only lore friendly solution would be to transmog your clothes real hard and frequent into the correct attire whenever you're in and out of school grounds cuz you'll look outta place by having any other way.
