yes, glasses/masks are a gear slot

You can modify all clothing, and, more importantly, you can hide or mask clothing with the appearance of other clothing to make your character fashion whatever you prefer.

yes you can, if on pc its F when hovering over it in your gear.

yep..

heck i found some psycho mask w/ good defense.. game let me 'turn" it into a pair of glasses. was some creepy mask on my char screen.. but i was able to make it look like glasses in game.

kind of nice...

come on really.. schools might have issues letting in someone wearing a Hannibal Lector mask...

Just hover the cursor over your gear and you'll see a button to change the appearance. That way you can equip gear for the best stats and still have your character looking how you like.
