RTX 3060 laptop GPU
I’m on medium settings. (Recommended by the game)
60fps inside hogwarts, with minor dips to fps and constant drops between 60-50fps while at hogsmeade. Worst drop I got, it went down to 30fps then it climbed back to 60. Also while passing through some areas inside hogwarts.
I’m guessing my RAM isn’t enough?
(I have 16GB ram btw)

You do need more than 16 honestly. This game uses up more than that. Had it use up about 19gb at one point

My rig is (desktop) RTX 3060TI, 32gb ram, I7-11700

ya... need more RAM 100%
I upgraded mine from 16 to 32 and it's been great (i got 2070 on my laptop)

I put my FPS cap at 75 and it runs a lot smoother than 60 for some reason.... dont really know why

Adding 16gb more fixes the problem? Like there’s no more fps dips? Because honestly for me, the game’s playable even with the occasional fps drops. I’m actually already lvl23.

It’s a constant 60fps for you after the upgrade? Because i’m thinking if spending money will be worth it

Mines been fine honestly, upped the cap to 75fps and I've been good

I have the same configuration:

MSI Katana GF76
I7-11800H
RTX 3600 (6Gb not enough, it would have been better 8Gb)
16Gb Ram (Maybe more ram would help. My ram is saturated when I play)

I turned off all RT options. Turned off DSLL and V-Sync. I'm on high level and running at 75 FPS inside Hogwarts. Outside I have sometimes drop of FPS (60FPS) but it goes back to 70-75 quickly.

Yo, upping the cap to 75fps made the game more tolerable. Thanks! It still drops though but now only until 55-59fps then back to 75. (55fps is barely noticeable since it goes right back up to 75 after a few secs)
Funny how I test fps by going to hogsmeade lol

Plus out of 15.3gb(16gb) RAM, it’s a constant 11.7-12gb of usage for me. 76%.

Low RAM.
Also since you're on a 30 series card I'll assume you're using DLSS, so what you can try is downloading the updated DLSS library, the one the game comes with is several versions old, people have been able to get a decent boost from this.

Glad it helped, yeah it's way less noticeable haha. I had the same thing when I played Miles Morales. Capping it at 90 instead of 60 and I had a smoother experience even though it dipped at parts. Was weird.

It's somewhat between 50 and 75 (i set limit to 75). One thing that helped a lot is "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling". You can find that for windows 10 in "Settings" ->Display->Graphics settings -> toggle "on" -> restart PC. Come back, add app (hogwartslegacy.exe from the steam folder) and set it to "High performance"

To anyone saying the problem is the ram. Upgrading the ram won’t solve the problem of poor optimization. Please don’t give wrong advices.
