DO NOT UPDATE NVIDIA DRIVER TO LATEST - FIXED

I just did updatet my nvidia graphic card driver to the latest version that just released earlier and i can't play the game anymore, it boots, then it goes into black screen and stay stuck there.
I wait for the fix, and i hope the performance issue will be fixed as well, i run 3060 and 32GB RAM

I had very few issues with latency until NVidia offered to adjust my settings (and give me newer drivers) by dropping everything from Medium to Low. Then the game offered a small update. Now I get about 10-15 FPS at best. This is the first time lowering settings and updating my GPU drivers has made a game completely unplayable...weird

Today's driver works fine for me. Same relatively poor performance as before, however. I still get the same stutters at 4K and everything maxed + DLSS Quality on a RTX 4090.
But I have not had a single crash in over 7 hours so far. The game is rock stable. I played the majority of those hours on driver version 528.49. The drivers are not the OP's sole issue.

just cleared my shader cache (old habbit) after installing the new drivers and no issues.
game started, recompiled shaders again and just runs.

Where's the shader folder I want to do the same

Benchmark set everything to Medium.

My system:-

CPU:- I7-8700K (4.7 Ghz)
GPU:- RTX 3060 12gb
RAM:- 32GB DDR4 (3000)
Disc:- M.2 2TB NVME SSD
Monitor:- LG 2680 x 1080 Monitor

I'm playing the game on Max settings - Ultra, using DLSS Quality & Ray Tracing. I have a couple of settings, shadows & fog reduced to high & FPS is 40-60. Running 2560 x 1080.

Drivers:- 517.48

It's miles better than I expected. Great game.

Anyone still having problems installing? I will hit the download button accordingly. The problem I experienced was that while downloading in my library on Steam, it remained fixed at 96% and crashed steam. I deleted it because I couldn't solve it. I will upload again.

you can rollback your nvidia drivers:
- Press the Windows key and type Device Manager into the search bar, then open the app
- Scroll down until you find Display Adapters. Click on the arrow to open a sub-list
- Select the Nvidia device, and right-click
- On this menu, select Properties
- In the Properties Window, select the Driver Tab. You will then see a list of options
- Select Roll Back Driver to revert to the previous driver
- You will need to choose a reason for why you want to roll back to the previously installed drivers. Choose whatever is most appropriate
- Click Yes to revert back to previous drivers

Just realized if you update to nvidia's newest driver make sure to go in and check your video settings. Everything was turned to ultra with everything ray tracing on before you decide to roll your driver back!

I wish i had seen this thread before. Just updated graphics and game crashes on boot since then.

Stuck at black screen with music playing in the background. No text no nothing.

Then after 3 mins I would get booted out.

try this , go to Drive:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy , right click application and run as admin.
