DO NOT UPDATE NVIDIA DRIVER TO LATEST - FIXED
I just did updatet my nvidia graphic card driver to the latest version that just released earlier and i can't play the game anymore, it boots, then it goes into black screen and stay stuck there.
I wait for the fix, and i hope the performance issue will be fixed as well, i run 3060 and 32GB RAM

Update - it has been fixed

It's not the driver. I've been having the same issue since yesterday with the old driver too. I'm on 3090.

The first time you boot after updated, it will take a while. Let it load, it'll take around 5 minutes. The black screen will go and then the shaders will start. They too are slow, it may seem stuck, but it's not. Leave it for about 10 minutes and it'll load.

Once you've done this once, the game will boot normally every time there after. Performance on the new drivers, although not specifically targeting Hogwarts Legacy, has made the game less prone to stutters, for me at least.
They are targeting the game they just don't mention it, I just got the Ansel popup for it

As said, wait a few minutes, you will get to shader compilation. I had same problem.

Thanks everyone, it worked in the end, does anyone know something about the stutters too? Will they fix it soon?

my drivers were so old, the game was giving me a"Warning" that my drivers were out of date, and even after doing a driver update to the latest, there wasnt any change what so ever, also when loading in, open the game, and then take your hands of the keyboard, dont touch anything, let it go through its loading undisrupted

I just left it on the black screen for a long time and eventually it started compiling shaders.

I can second this.

Took me ~5mins to load with a completely black screen, although with the menu music playing in the background.

Performance with the new driver seems to have improved a bit.

just cleared my shader cache (old habbit) after installing the new drivers and no issues.
game started, recompiled shaders again and just runs.

Also, don't alt tab when you are compiling shaders the first time, you can't alt tab back in sometimes.

Did you mean to say 'no' problems or 'new' problems?

How do you empty your shared files?

well ♥♥♥♥.
Can confirm driver update is safe. I don't even get the black shader screen that some are mentioning.
