Really? Since when?
Since about 2020 i'd say.
8-Core 12th Gen i7 CPU and yet Hogwarts is being CPU throttled. Damn Denovo.
My problem was constant crashing after the hatting ceremony.
This solution got me through the entire cutscene without crash or stutter!
The problem with the game is its memory management, (or so it seems.)
You need to increase page file size in Windows.
To do this, type in Windows search bar SystemPropertiesAdvanced (may need to run as admin)
- You'll see the advanced properties page. . .click Settings where it says 'Performace'
- Click the advanced tab. . .Click change where it says 'virtual memory'
- Make sure the checkbox 'Automatically managing paging. . .' is NOT checked.
- Then, select 'system managed size' . . .click set and ok
- Restart your computer.
Best of luck!
(Make a note of the current settings before doing this. I'm only using these adjustments until I finish the Hogwarts game, and I'm not playing anything else. This can improve performance but may also decrease stability. Just to be aware. Prepare to revert changes if necessary.)
Before this year there was no reason to go over 16gb of ram it just didn't matter in gaming
Now Hogwarts and Tarkov gobble ram up for no observable reason. I actually think Hogwarts might have memory leak issues
It says 16gb for minimum and recommended. The difference is gpu and the amount of VRAM.
Nope

copy and pasted from the store page, looks like they just put the non ray traced.
The game has issues, but "more RAM" does seem to be a reliable fix for many of us.

"Enable hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling (I had turned this off because it caused issues in another game, I can't remember which one). Windows search for "GPU" to find this setting, a restart is required.
Navigate to "AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor" and backup "Engine.ini". Add the following to the bottom of the file and save it:
[SystemSettings]
r.bForceCPUAccessToGPUSkinVerts=True
r.GTSyncType=1
r.OneFrameThreadLag=1
r.FinishCurrentFrame=0
r.TextureStreaming=1
r.Streaming.PoolSize=3072
r.Streaming.LimitPoolSizeToVRAM=1
[ConsoleVariables]
AllowAsyncRenderThreadUpdates=1
AllowAsyncRenderThreadUpdatesDuringGamethreadUpdates=1
AllowAsyncRenderThreadUpdatesEditor=1"
