No mate,its broken that quest!!
If you open the cage before the mission,its over.Try reload a save!
With all the things people are trying, I think this is going to come down to plain old optimization issues on the devs. end. As far as I know these glitches and bugs are not happening on the console versions of the game. So they clearly gave priority to the console ports over PC port.

I'm still on the fence as to whether I want to actually upgrade my console situation for the sake of future games. My six year old Xbox One runs totally fine with all the game I have. But I don't think it's powerful enough to run Hogwarts well. Will need at least the series s or One X and I'm hesitant to buy an entire new console for the sake of one game (well, at least until other games require that level of power and don't run well on PC.)

I really hope that this isn't a trend where devs. put so much less priority into making a good PC port for games. It's going to alienate the entire PC gaming community.

Falling into neverland bug still active
My problem is still the game fading out and exiting to the main menu by itself every few seconds, as soon as I try to move my character it does it every time. Haven't got past the very first quest 'Path to Hogwarts'.

Delete/Rebuild Shadercache after Driver Update (Nvidia)
(BACKUP files first):

For Nvidia these locations will vary depending on driver version.
Locations for old and recent Nvidia/Windows shader and compute locations for all games and applications follows (copy & paste each line into the windows search)

%PROGRAMDATA%\NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache
%LOCALAPPDATA%\NVIDIA\GLCache
%LOCALAPPDATA%\NVIDIA\DXCache
%APPDATA%\NVIDIA\ComputeCache
%LOCALAPPDATA%\D3DSCache

Delete Hogwarts Legacy Shadercache:
C:\ProgramData\Hogwarts Legacy

REBUILD SHADERS (Add this to your engine.ini in %AppData%\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor)

[/script/engine.renderersettings]
r.CompileShadersForDevelopment=0
r.D3D.ForceShaderConductorDXCRewrite=1
r.ShaderPipelineCache.PreOptimizeEnabled=1
r.ShaderPipelineCache.MaxPrecompileTime=500
r.ShaderPipelineCache.SaveUserCache=1
r.ShaderPipelineCache.Enabled=1
r.ShaderPipelineCache.LogPSO=1
r.ShaderPipelineCache.SaveBoundPSOLog=1

Yes, just do this step:

Delete Hogwarts Legacy Shadercache:
C:\ProgramData\Hogwarts Legacy

REBUILD SHADERS (Add this to your engine.ini in %AppData%\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor)

[/script/engine.renderersettings]
r.CompileShadersForDevelopment=0
r.D3D.ForceShaderConductorDXCRewrite=1
r.ShaderPipelineCache.PreOptimizeEnabled=1
r.ShaderPipelineCache.MaxPrecompileTime=500
r.ShaderPipelineCache.SaveUserCache=1
r.ShaderPipelineCache.Enabled=1
r.ShaderPipelineCache.LogPSO=1
r.ShaderPipelineCache.SaveBoundPSOLog=1

I don't know if I did it right now because I'm not a PC hero of the day. It still doesn't work, I give it up slowly, with all the trying around, I scrap my system at some point.

And still no patch today...
And no "roadmap" for the game(I Know its a single player game and they are working in last generation of consoles),but its a long time with so many issues.
I stop playing the game with 40 hours,waiting for a patch.
And i totally regret my pre order,i guess i still never learn :P

Thank you for the detailed procedure on this. I'm thinking of trying it, but I don't know if it would solve my problem since I actually made it through the shader step when the game was loading. I'm just desperate at this point to try anything.
