Error: Unable to initialize SteamAPI

Hello players,
I was out of home and first launched the game on my laptop, just wanted to see how everything is looking and working in the game, but when I try to launch the game now from my main PC I have this error:
"Unable to initialize SteamAPI. Please make sure Steam is running and you are logged in to an account entitled to the game."
I tried to do everything - reinstalling Steam, the game etc. and nothing works for me.
Anyone else have this issue? Any tips?

Solved. Komodo antivirus, even if disabled, was still preventing 3 files to be run as normal. One was categorized as "unknown" (so blocked) and other 2 were running but in containment mode (so they were "boxed" by the antivirus). The most upsetting thing was that i got no warnings about these events by komodo.

Hope it helps. Check firewall (windows defender and any others), check your antivirus and permit anything with hogwarts legacy name to run as normal

Thank you! It was in fact because of Komodo - I didn't get any warnings too. Everything is working now :)

and how did you fix this? I am having it ignore all files in steam folder and it still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.

nvm just turned off my auto-containment, It's the Denuvo. Komodo sees it as a rootkit and kills it.

i don't have comodo antivirus and it still has the same problem i've checked the windows security nothing there relating to hogwarts legacy

yes, in my case too Comodo isolated the .exe file in a container and adding this executable file to "trusted" solved the problem
