What I'm trying to say is what we know and love as Hogwarts is basically the outside view from the castle, now if you'd try to fit everything in there you need to make some adjustments which they've done in this game. Imo think it fits pretty well.
Did you forget how much hogwarts changed between the movies too? The Hogwarts in Philosophers STone isn't remotely anything close to the same layout, design, or interior as the one in Prisoner of Azkaban, and dthe one in Prisoner isn't even the same as the one in the final movie.
Far as I'm concerned It's almost lore friendly that HOgwarts changes here and there each year.
True. Although I remember the HP 5 game, and imho back then devs kinda nailed it with setting up the castle from the movies into the game, tho it was way smaller than in HL, and served mostly as fan museum.
