Unplug your controller, or if it's not that check that your other peripherals aren't being detected as a controller (a USB keyboard, for example.)

Unplug them one at a time. If it's your keyboard, try updating the drivers/software for that device. [Example: I have a Logitech mechanical keyboard plugged into my laptop, which is recognized as a 'controller' in some games. Unplugging, then plugging it back in almost always fixes the issue.]

I have tried all of that and it's still happening.. I don't understand what could be causing it?

Only time that has happened to me in a game was when my analog controller developed drift and just ended up replacing. If the obvious doesn't fix it. Never have I had to manually install drivers in a long time. I think as far back as Windows 7 using a controller. It's usually just auto installed.

If you have another one swap it out and see if it's gone.

Well, after messing around with it, i found a way to reset that camera floating upwards above our character. Just move the camera around with the arrow keys and that seems to break it loose and return it to normal.

After browsing many threads on Steam forums and here on Reddit I found a user who fixed their issue by moving the camera with the arrow keys for just a moment, to "unstick" the camera. This didn't work for me.
So after doing that, I tried unbinding the arrow keys from the camera movement in the PC bindings. Then it worked! Now I can use my controller without the camera panning up.

Thank you to R'ard's comment - unbinding the arrow keys is what worked for me.

How do I fix my camera for pinning up? I even unplugged it and plugged it back in and it still didn't work and I got a new controller
