Anyone getting an "out of video memory" crash while preparing shaders?

On a 3080TI and I keep getting that message.

Possibly an unstable overclock or undervolt if you use one. Doesn't matter if it's been stable with every other game, sometimes a game can come along that shows you weren't really fully stable. If you do use one, just try disabling it and see if there's any difference.

I didn't get a crash, but my 'puters fans went crazy... I made it through it, but just barely, crazy that they would do that before letting you adjust settings

I always have this issue even on a 4090 (and no overclocking or alteration of voltage).

Ayo got a fix for it!

I navigated to C:\Users\{user}\AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor and edited the game config file to turn off some features only reserved for the 4000 series and turn down the resolution.

I changed the settings back in game after it launched and did the shader stuff.

The game config file is empty for me. Are you opening it with something other than notepad?

Glad this worked for you, but my Game.ini file is blank, so this does not seem to be a universal solution.
