No DualSense Support?
The PS5 DualSense controller works, except the Haptic feedback, Adaptive Trigger....etc.

There's basically no rumble (not even a generic one while using this controller). Case in point, Xbox controller rumble works completely fine.

Am I missing anything or they didn't add DualSense features on PC? (many new games does, so it's weird this one doesn't have)

@Beef/@Luke you're right, I only noticed after posting that Adaptive Triggers still don't work with this 'fix'. Although I'm fairly sure haptic does. In the clock tower - under the huge pendulum - it definitely 'feels' like the haptic feedback swinging side to side, not just standard rumble. Same goes for the opening logo when it disperses from side-to-side.

The only other things I can think of is make sure you have the latest firmware (you can download Sony's official 'Firmware Updater for DualSense' for Windows 10/11). Other than that, also check in your controller settings (vis Steam game > Prop > cont) that it's highlighting 'Playstation' as your connected controller.

A decent controller (like the one you get with the new Xbox) with precise-enough left/right motors should be able to do that as well...

Anyway, I got my purchase refunded, so I'm outta here... Let's see how the PC port looks in a few months.
I made another report since they closed the last one to see if we can grab their attention: https://hogwartslegacy.bugs.wbgames.com/bug/HL-682

They sadly closed it. Lets keep voting/commenting!
well it’s not a bug if it was not ever an intention to have full dual sense functionality. so it is more of a feature request i suppose. solely due to this i purchased the ps5 version as it’s so integral to the experience, supposedly!
the money crunchers at Sony need to wake up and realise that more PC-supported dual sense titles = more dual sense controller $ALE$ !!

It‘s a developer thing not a Sony issue.

Plague Tale Requiem, Miles Morales and Death Stranding (which is a very Sony-near title) are supporting native Dualsense features on PC.

I have hopes, that a day one or day two patch will target the issues, as Xbox controllers also do not work properly.

Little OT:
I'm thinking of buying a dualsense controller but already have an Elite v2... do you recommend it based on titles that have 100% support of its functions or not worth the money? Thanks :)

so do the haptics/triggers work or not - seeing alot of contradictory commentary about it. Test should be 1) Steam Direct Input turned OFF and 2) a WIRED connection. Can someone verify? It’s holding up my purchasing decision!

If this helps:

1) Not sure about reactive triggers... how would I know? I'm halfway through the prologue (life got in the way lol), but it seems very... responsive when casting spells.

2) I definitely get haptics, not just rumble. There's a specific spot in the prologue where the magic "leads" you in a direction, and I totally felt it. I get a small haptic "bum" even when I open the pause menu

I just use a Dualsense, firmware updated, wired. Didn't touch a thing in the controller settings in Steam. it just worked (for me, anyway)
I've tried it with steam input and without, there is no rumble, no haptics, nothing. Works perfect fine in Plague Tale and Spooderman though.

Developers need to stop playing around and give us full dualsense support. If even small devs like Plagues Tale can get it right, why can't Avalanche. It's not like they didn't rake in the money from pre orders anyways.
The confusion is because people dont know the difference between Haptic feedback and rumble. they use the wrong words. The PC version does not have Haptic feedback or Adaptive triggers and its not a bug, It just hasnt been included. yes there is a issue with rumble as explained already but this issue plagues loads of games on steam.

People keep saying that, but I can tell you that I DO know the difference between Rumble and Haptics. I'm getting HAPTICS (little subtle bumps in the pause menu, lovely rumble during flight, TONS of stuff happening during fights, etc. It's throughout the game, and It's very "next-gen" feeling). All with with my DualSense.

Not through the triggers though, I don't think that's implemented :(

I'm not trying to be contrary here, but if people are trying to diagnose the problem, it's good for them to know that DualSense support IS in the game.
I use DSX (steam) to add haptics / adaptive triggers on any game. Works really well with L2 resistance and a slight trigger for R2. It even has audio haptics, controller will shake with loud noises like spells etc.

My point exactly lol. there is no problem with the game just problem with what people say.

Do you have steam input disabled, and do you play wired? I have tried with steam input and without, via usb and wireless and theres no rumble, no haptics or anything.

Guys.. I just tried the game on my PC and can confirm that when using the DualSense wired, and enabling Steam Input, the rumble is indeed NOT the standard rumble.

It may not be "full fledge" haptics that you get on the PS5 version, but I can absolutely confirm that the rumble is much nuanced and high definition than standard rumble. The controller subtly vibrates when you hover over menus, and the standard R2 casting feels very subtle and high quality. Same with like the landing thump when jumping.

THIS IS HUGE lol. Completely changes the experience.
