Hi,
I have checked that path and have a bunch of DX files in there so I assume it should be fine. The game was running fine before.
I did have my game on another drive (E:) but am moving to the main drive (C:) as this is where the Steamworks folder is containing the DirectX files.
I will report back if this works.
If not, what is the advice as I have already run the DirectX web installer and it said I already had an up to date version.
The game being located on a second Steam library must have been causing issues recognising the DirectX runtime
I already had it in C and it doesn't work for me, I have seen that I do have the DirectX folder but inside there is a folder that says Jun2010 I suppose this is already old, right? how can i update this? because when I download direct x from the link you sent it tells me that I already have it installed and therefore it doesn't update it. I do not know what to do :(
Game was running but I've run into the same problem again...
Have tried launching from the .exe as well *sigh*
It depends if you have important stuff on your pc, maybe do a backup on an external hard disk.
I have done everything-
I have downloaded Direct X
Also downloaded C++
Also updated the Driver on my 1080 Ti
And also reinstalled the game
and NOTHING WOIRKS
Steam support PLEASE HELP us out
While I was attempting to install Spotify after setting my PC up again after the latest wipe. I kept getting errors that the following two .dll files were missing:
- resampledmo.dll
- mfplat.dll
Having previously been exposed to the same error when attempting to launch Diablo Immortals, I tried to see if I could find the .dll files myself off the Internet, as Microsoft own repair tools and commands did not help me.
I found the .dlls, downloaded both 32-bit and 64-bit versions and followed the guide on the site explaining where to place them:
- https://www.dll-files.com/mfplat.dll.html
I tried installing Spotify again afterwards and finally succeeded. Curious as I was, I tried initiating Hogwarts Legacy and boom! The game actually launched!
I hope this will help some of you guys out there, who, like me, just want to enjoy this new game and not waste hours on fixing Windows ;-)
