Unable to hear voices or dialog (Seems to be an issue with interfacing with sound cards/DAC's)
I am unable to hear voices or dialog. I changed to audio setting from home theater to soundbar so I can hear other characters voices but I still can't hear my characters voice. Is anyone else running into the same issue?

Here is an update for anyone following this thread. I have a Sound Blaster X4 external DAC. I had my DAC set up to go through my desktop 2.1 speaker system and was hearing everything but anything in front of the camera which included voices. I switched to my headphones and I was able to hear everything including voices. It seems as through the game is not working right with sound cards/DAC's.

SteamLibrary -> Hogwarts Legacy -> right clickProperty -> languageswitch to an other Language. Starting the game -> close it then change the language againa shift should launch it.
Check this ;)

Brilliant! Thanks for this! Same exact set-up here. It works fine through the headset. Hopefully they get it fixed but good to know we can play as intended. Thanks again!

Got problems with my Logitech G933 Headset it seems....Sound is normal as same as the effects. But the voice in the character creation wasnt there. In the cutscenes there was sound but the voices were barly hearable. Also Prof Fig was either on my left or right hearable, it depends where he stands. But my character is still quiet. I tried every settings that I know but no solition.

Did you set the audio settings to headset? Also are you using a sound card or a DAC?

I use the headphone setting, but I tried the others too. There was no difference of my Problem sadly. If I have a sound card it must be integrated to my mainboard which is the ASUS ROG Strix X470-F Gaming Mainboard.

*EDIT* I deinstalled the Logitech Software and now I got voices. Maybe if someone got the same problems this may help.

I had to switch my software ( creative app ) to direct mode to fix this in many games not hearing dialogue.

I also encountered this but there is no rhyme or reason when it happens or when it goes, random sound bug, everything starts echoing and voices because hard to hear as if the sound focus has shifted

I figured out how to get it working with the external desktop speakers. In the creative software that comes with the sound blaster x4, under speakers (Lineout), you set the speakers to 2.1 surround, full-range speakers: on, speaker type desktop, and headphone virtualization: on. This fixed all my sound issues with all of my games.

I was running into the same issue and found a solution - check the sample rate of your playback device. I was using studio monitors and an audio interface running at 96k and couldn't hear voices in dialogue, I restored to the Windows default of 48k and this solved the issue.

Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound -> Right click your audio device, select properties -> Advanced tab, set format to "2 Channel, 24 bit, 48000Hz"

Hope this helps!
