There is nothing "Woke" about this game. Learn what woke means
While people are fixated on the gender issues because of a lot of misinformation about some of JK Rowling's beliefs, and her somewhat flippant attitude when dealing with Twitter Mobs who she increasingly refuses to respect, don't forget there are some other issues with this game, and weirdly a lot of the problems aren't coming from who you think.
For example it should be noted that this game takes place during the butt-end of the 1890s which is hardly a progressive time. JK Rowling designed "The Wizarding World" and it's events to roughly parallel what happened in the regular muggle world, and thus have similar attitudes and demographics. It in part makes things funny when they deal with Muggles and don't get simple things.
At any rate if you know anything about The British Empire in the 1890s you would know it was the era of "The White Man's Burden" type of racism and so on. What was going on in places like China, India, Africa, etc... is hardly progressive by modern standards, and while the motives were somewhat different similar analogies to all of this happened in The Wizarding World. As a result there really shouldn't be much student diversity in a version of Hogwarts in The Victorian era, especially when it comes to ethnicity, because a lot of the non-white wizards are dead, oppressed, or otherwise depleted. "Modern" HP era Hogwart's is more progressive because that is the way the modern world is, and attitudes changed since the reign of Queen Victoria. One problem when dealing with prequels is always being limited by established facts and history if you don't want to make a joke out of things.
While some people are cheering for the inclusion in the game, just as many people are somewhat irritated to see so many "minority" characters in the background and such because to be fair it does not fit. It's not exactly racist, because the attitude is pretty much "If they wanted to do this, why not make a SEQUEL taking place after the events of HP when such a breakdown would make sense".
From things I've been reading online the most fierce critics are weirdly a lot of minorities in geekdom. Albeit not ones writing for major publications or posturing for views. The attitude is more or less hating being pandered too, and making the point that this sort of thing is exactly why modern social movements get a bad reputation. Not to mention in some cases not caring for the "whitewashing" of history and trying to pretend things were progressive when they clearly should not have been, especially when if inclusion was the goal they could have set it anywhere. Basically the same group of people who might be black or whatever themselves, and pretty much feel a story about say Vikings is ruined if you see some black dude with giant dreads running around with an axe despite all common sense.
I don't think it will make much of a difference in the end, and I don't actually care despite the rant, I just wanted to point out that this is not a mono-issue batch of criticism. At the end of the day pretty much only the more ignorant, politically sheltered members of the "Zoomer" community believe JK Rowling is transphobic (they are just very vocal, and never do any real research, just look at stuff that reinforces their bias). As that is their preferred issue and they love social media you hear it the most. Many other people are however going "wut, this is The Victorian Era in Britain?", and other things. In the end the company took action to limit twitter outrage mobs, but as those mobs are mindless no gesture ever actually works (case in point: Cyberpunk 2077), those who are HP fans are going to buy it anyway, and as we can all see JK Rowling rakes in millions and gives more millions to charity regardless of what Zoomers on social media thing. Clearly all of the nonsense they spout in the world hasn't prevented her from basically being a partner in multiple theme parks with millions of attendees every year, and increasing demands that international versions be built (for almost a decade there has been a lot of discussion about a full sized Harry Potter park based on what Universal did being built in the UK where the books originated and are actually set).
1. no one in the game except the one goblin believe the They
2. The Devs made sure They was more than 500 yards from the school grounds. nice touch XD
what's your issue with whites? if you hate whites so much, you should book a plane ticket right away and move to Uganda where you can be happy forever after stop your racism
