Why does the PC version release later than the console?
It's like 7pm in central europe while consoles are getting it at 12am? Why is that?

Console is doing a midnight release. PC is doing standard steam release time, which is 10 am PST global.

Someone has to actually be in the office to press the RELEASE NOW button. Steam doesn't do timed releases.

So that's a steam thing and not a pc thing in general? I mean there's absolutely no reason why steam shouldn't also release it at midnight.

And no preload. Dunno why, but I do not care too much. If I play it on the 7th or 8th doesn't matter to me

Developers/publishers decide the launch time. They chose to release the game at midnight for players on console. Where as PC is being forced to not only have no pre-load, but also launch at standard steam release time (10 am PST) which is when the steam office is open/sprawling. Is it a marketing scheme to get more console sales, or do they just want full support of steam rather than a ghost crew? Hard to say.

Steam releases it everywhere at the same time, which is whenever the devs click the RELEASE NOW button. It doesn't care when they do that.

Consoles release everywhere at different times (local midnight), so everybody either moves to New Zealand for a day or they start spread out over a 26-hour window.

Steam's approach is better in an Internet-connected world, the consoles haven't caught up yet (which is why they also have people already playing because they don't even check the release dates properly for disc copies).

bc consoles are garbage tier and we get to play on PC. Imagine having to play this game, or any other on a console controller, lolololol. I'll take this small L to not have to use a controller and crappy TV. We get to use ultrawide monitors and high-end GPU's, for those that have jobs anyway.

I don't see how this approach is better than going for a release time on each individual timezone.

Given that Steam has community screenshots and community forums that show what other players are doing, wouldn't it infuriate you if people in New Zealand were already playing it but it was still counting down 18 hours until your release date?

You all must be new to PC, this is nothing new.

Nope. I don't have to look at those community screenshots and people playing/streaming on console will be everywhere aswell. Why would that infuriate me less?

Also, important to note if you are going to be sitting there watching the clock and waiting for the download to be allowed. You will likely have to restart steam to get the download to be available (Not joking.) which in its own right, might be difficult because the amount of people that are going to be doing it, just very well might crash the steam login servers.

would just go to work to be honest with you... even when it releases there is no guarantee as far as I can see that it will actually run fine even on the best of systems.
