quick question...

is there any creature like BASILISK or serpents in the game? 
I've seen a couple gameplay videos (illustrated) and never came across any info.

There are other Basilisk known or they wouldn't be in books. I think modern times they were hunted to extinction, so there might be one somewhere since this game takes place in the past and closer to the time Basilisks were created to begin with.
