I'm disappointed that they did not make this game into anime style
A lot of games improve considerably by it being an anime. Not only does it improves the visual style, it also enhances everything you could do with the game, it boost its creativity.
Needless to say that Japanese media is almost always better just because they understand what makes it famous.
Japanese storytelling has always been a little more sophisticated than your typical western "knight saves princess from dragon" plots, and with that comes things like fighting techniques and styles.
Samurai/ronin/shinobi didn't just blatantly bash their sword against their enemy like knights did in the west, they actually studied what it meant to engage in combat.

Most recent example are cyberpunk, they flop so hard at the start but manage to climb to glory after the anime released. It even won one of steam award last year. Another one i would like to mention is overwatch, they follow in the visual style of anime but fail at the delivery because it is just too americanized with their tropes, hence why they fail.

I love the anime aesthetic too, but I feel like only Japanese creatives implement it properly.

Animation isn't downgraded to a "kid" thing in Japan. And the voice acting skill and depth sends that animation to even greater heights. Not to mention the majestically creative off-the-wall plots that shouldn't work, but somehow do.

Ghost of Tsushima came the closest to having a real synergy between Japanese and Western devs. The visuals were historically perfect and artistic. But sadly the story was written by the Western devs, and I think it wasted the beautiful setting of that story.

So while I extremely enjoy anime...I have to disagree in regards to this game. I frankly don't think they could pull off something with that much style.
-------------------------
And yes, despite the story originating from the UK. I'm sure the Japanese could create something amazing in the harry potter universe. Something new and creative.

Just go watch the Japanese animation of Batman. It's so different, but so refreshing and fitting for the character.

I don't think Japan has exclusivity on creativity. But they seem to be willing to be creative - while our culture isn't. I'd love for that to change. But yeah.

The same reason a Japanese born story that's based in Japan became a Western.

Your hatred is irelevant. What relevant is how western companies have been in decline over the past couple of years because they refuse to improve.

That can't exactly be argued against. It's evident in the reviews western animation are getting.

I would probably get the game if it was in anime style. Now the real reason why they didn’t go for an anime style is JK Rowling doesn’t like how all the men are so androgynous looking in anime

This is a thread I wasn't expecting today. I don't know what's more flavorful, the Kanji or the fact that they're banned.
