I believe in general it is a butterscotch cream soda that has a frothy creamy top.
So I suppose you could get a butterscotch latte with whip cream.
I use A&W but any creamsoda would probably work. I think the original is made with A&w as well but not positive on that. As an alternative for creamsoda... No idea. Maybe rootbeer? lol. Wouldn't be the same though.

For an adult, you can make flavor-copycat of cream soda by mixing a standard shotglass of Captain Morgan spiced rum into a full can of 7up soda. In fact that might be a good way to make a "spiked" version like somebody mentioned on the first page.
