"‘Oh, he definitely wanted the Defence Against the Dark Arts job,’ said Dumbledore. ‘The aftermath of our little meeting proved that. You see, we have never been able to keep a Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher for longer than a year since I refused the post to Lord Voldemort.’"
They don't teach Dark Arts in Hogwarts - it's called "Defense against the Dark Arts" :D
Anyway, I hope they're going to lampshade this by making the DADA-Teacher a sunny, butterfly-chasing guy and instead turn whoever teaches Herbology into a muggle-eating monster (=^_^=).
This. Also, in one of the trailer's the Datda teacher's last name is Weasly. Doubt they'll be evil.
The job was cursed but it was cursed by Voldemort when Dumbledore turned him down for the DADA job. Voldemort basically threw a fit and went “if I can’t have the job then no one can”.
Oh, the dark arts has always been a thing. Voldemort was just the most powerful dar wizard.
2. The DADA postion isn't cursed until 1967 so just after Molly and Arthur Weasly left school.
