From my understanding there will be cross platform play but no cross progression, so if you buy it on pc you can link to playstation and play there with whatever edition you paid for

There is no such thing, if you buy it on PC you won't be playing on playstation unless you buy the PS version.
In other words no cross buy and no cross save.

I'm not sure yet whether I'm going to get it on PC or PS5. My PC only has a GTX 1080 with i7-8700k, 16GB RAM. I try to play games in 1440p. I can usually play most games on high but I also don't care much for 60+fps. I am generally fine with 30-50.

If you have a PS5 buy it for that, this game was developed for the console and the entire gameplay scheme is build for a controller, so you might as well get it for its native.

The PC version is a port and might have issue (note that I own that, because I don´t play console) so well.. but PS5 > PC, for console games that are ported.

I have a feeling denuvo is going to make the game ran like ass on PC.

I thought about this too but i decide to buy it on PC because of
- Modding (later maybe MP RP Mod)
- better Specs (High End PC and can be upgraded)
- Discord (PS5 only in Beta phase and dont have invited yet)
- On PC i have a second Monitor for reading stuff (Guides) on PS5 i need a Smartphone or Tablet (PS5 is in my living room)
- price is cheaper

The only postiive on PS5 would be playing on my Cinema oh wait i can do this with my PC too. Sorry PS5...

The Specs are high because of the visual effects ingame but it is only the Unreal Engine 4 so middle class PCs can handle this game too. Lowering shaodws and some effects and all are fine.
