A lot of storage
Good thing I have an external hard drive that I can download this onto or else I wouldn't be able to play it, as well as most other people. 85 gigs is a lot of storage and most people's computers, especially laptops, wont have more than 30 gigs at a time to work with.

If anyone with a laptop doesn't have an external hard drive I seriously recommend it. It's a good investment if you want to play a lot of games. You can get a good quality one with 1tb for $60 at least.

Edit:
All that I have on my actual system is roughly 30gb free of storage. I am a student and do not have a thousand+ dollars to drop on a hardcore gaming laptop. I'm working with an hp pavilion because that's what I can afford.

If you dare open the bottom of your laptop, you can probably upgrade your hard drive which is way better especially if you have a m.2 slot or no esata.

Yeah forreal though, games are only going to get bigger.

OP:

Also, this game will likely run like crap on an external HDD. I'd recommend a SSD if you're forced to use external.

I'm curious if your PC would even be able to run this game though it sounds like you're working with a walmart build, not a gamin laptop.

Imagine complaining about a 85gb Game in 2023.....

Is this some form of a low Bait Troll?

And external HDD? WTF

Or it may be a kid. Good for OP for thinking of ways to make your situation work.

Y'all gotta chill, lmao. Not everybody can drop $1000+ on a gaming laptop. I figure if what I have can run the full maxed out load of the sims 4 with no issues, this shouldn't be that much of a problem. And even if it doesn't run I could get a refund. I'm pretty sure I meet the bare minimum requirements, its purely a matter of storage.

You won't know until you try. I'm not sure why everyone immediately went into bully mode.

I just looked up the specs and it turns out I dont even have the right processor. I just refunded it and will repurchase it for my switch. Hopefully it will work then.

That sucks. The switch version doesn't release until this summer, I think :/

85 gb is nothing.

Apologies if you're referencing me as part of that. It was not my intention to sound condescending.

I had a feeling based on what you said that this would be the case, but I was thinking it'd be your GPU.

Hope the switch version works out for you.

you dont need a $1,000 gaming laptop to run something like this or even have reasonable storage. my $600 nitro 5 nearly meets recommended specs and im sitting around with nearly 400gb of space to use. the reason people are calling this a bait thread and poking fun is because its 2023 and youre complaining about an open world game taking up loads of space. dragon age inquisition is around 60gb, cyberpunk is around 70, witcher 3 is around 55-60. the vast majority of people have more than enough space and if they dont then their computer more than likely will not be able to run the game period.

also, dont recommend external hard drives. a hard drive is already slow enough but to recommend an external one for a laptop (which, btw, has a slot on the inside where you can install a hard drive or solid state drive VERY easily) when you can buy an internal SSD on amazon for around the same price just doesnt make any sense. you can get a top of the line samsung 1tb ssd for well under $100.

I recently uninstalled DCS from my laptop. Cleaned up 500+ gb. So 85 is not that bad.

Where was I complaining? And again, not everybody has the money to just buy a new laptop. And not all laptops function the way that yours does, it's made by completely different companies. There's no reason to be so condescending. Just because it's 2023 doesn't mean that everybody on the planet is able to have brand new things that can support every game on earth.
